Anything scared you for life?

have you ever been scared for life from something, for example, a gun was pointed at you when you where 8?

I've never been in a situation where I was scared I was going to die. Then again, why are people afraid of death when it's a release, not an end.

I have experienced some scary things but not something that has scared m so much I sufffered a trauma or anything so no not really.
