The NON computer grafix thread

Ok guys, not sure if this is gonna work here, but:

Post pics and links to some of your REAL artwork, the stuff you DIDN`T do on the computer

A few of mine to get us started:

2 figurines of samurai warriors that actually took me six months to build and paint. Bought in kit form, made from white metal and handpainted with acrylic(I was suffering verrrry badly from depression at the time and I constructed these when I was at my lowest point)

Yeah, nice painting. I bet it takes a real steady pair of hands to do that. Nice detail too. :)

Some nice models Sith. I could never get into space models, tried and failed miserably:rolleyes:
Although with weathering you gotta be careful you don`t overdo it or underdo it. As evident in the speeder bike, just looks too clean. My method was to paint the model in a slightly darker shade than needed, get some of the really thick goo from the bottom of the tin of a lighter color, get a small amount on a brush and wipe off any excess then just tickle the surface of the model with the brush. The paint then adheared to the raised detail more thus picking out the details. I`ll post some pics of some unfinished models sometime.

It wasn`t intended to be him although the helmet is very reminiscent of his (the gold crescent moon). Purely fictitious.

Re: The NON computer grafix thread

I really think you ought to dust those figurines! After all they took you all that time to build...

Sith_Pilot November 13th, 2005 02:43 AM

Re: The NON computer grafix thread

dust.... it build up on models so quickly and is even harder to get off, unless you drycoat it... but even then its a pain, which is why ine are all in boxes for now until I can make up some plastic display stands for the good ones. and cases for all my SW statues and such.... I think i need 2 rooms
