UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' "A woman from London has recently been diagnosed with AIDS after sitting on a needle poking out of a cinema seat. Attached to the needle was a note. It reads "Congratulations on the AIDS!". She immediately checked in at a GUM clinic to check. Alas, it was positive. UK residents are being warned to check everything from slots in drinking machines, to seats in public places. This is a very serious matter, and must be dealt with immediately." What a fuckbag! Leaving infected needles about is a 'trend'? Shit, be careful y'all.... |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Welcome to planet earth. But yeah clearly the work of a sick and twisted mind. That just sucks totaly. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Holy crap. This is just sick. It really sucks for her. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' I'd say... fuck that. Crazy bastards, they deserve to be hunted down and raped by an elephant. |

Anyhow, Id expect the cinema staff to be going along looking for rubbish after the movie before hand. And if they did, how the hell can you miss an upturned needle? |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' I'm sorry, but without a source, I find this very hard to believe. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' It's an old wives tale. www.snopes.com. It's on there somewhere. EDIT : http://www.snopes.com/horrors/madmen/pinprick.asp |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Yes, I've heard and read things like that all the time... but... what if some sick bastard decided it would be a good idea? There is no source because obviously, this is a rumor one thats false |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' The sad thing is some people are crazy enough to get inspired by these old wive tales and actually do it (or something simular). |

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Yeah thats just the kind of thing that you hear about but its never actually proven to have happened. Personally I don't really believe the needle would have been missed by the cleanning staff. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' fuck man if that was true i would hunt that fucker down |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' If it were true, i wouldn't exactly call it a trend, but that'd be really messed up. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' the flaw there is that she 'imidiately' checked, and was found positive. logic tells us that there is at least a fair incubation time needed to infect the entire host. thus, if this were true, she would have been HIV positive before she got stinged. but appart from that, yea, its a popular old wives tale. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' This is pretty bad if its true, but i'm sure things like this are going on. There are some really f***** up people in this world and if some do this, i wouldn't be surprised. |

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Get the DNA from the infected fucker that left the needle, hunt him/her down and exterminate them. And their family. That's just scummy lowlifeness. I can't believe it. |

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' that is not true the virus would die in a matter of seconds outside the human body , there is no way anyone can get AIDS that way |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' ...You can catch HIV from used needles, that's a fact. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' whats AIDS!!!!!:confused::uhm: |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Knowing how britian is full of about 10% fuckers, i doubt it, yes, this may just be a story, but i bet something similar has happened at some point! |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' oh well... glad its not true... (yet?).... you really need to be a sick psycho to do that... Quote:

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Let's put it in simpler terms... AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is caused by a person contracting HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). This virus attacks a person's immune system, which is what prevents them from getting sick. Over time, an infected person's immune system loses the ability to fight most infections, and a simple cold can prove deadly. There are treatments for those who have it, but all they do is help with the symptoms, they don't get rid of the virus, and they're very expensive. HIV/AIDS is only known to be contagious through exchange of bodily fluids, such as blood or fluids from sexual contact. You can't get it from a person through the air or touching. Most people who get it will die, as their bodies fail to fight off infections. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Isn't there something that can be taken for a month immiedietly after being infected that will prevent it from ever taking hold? I thought I remembered reading about some sort of treatment a few years ago along those lines. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Won't most known medical treatments kill said person? |

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' This is intreasting because I found out of this from a different source which got it from the NHS website |

Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' damn, and i thought we had all the wackos here in the United States |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' if this is true it is really sick.you should always check the seat at the movies or any public place for spit and gum, let alone for needles. the AMC cinema i go to is ultra filthy all the time so i make it a point to take a mini mag ligth and check my seat before i sit on it, may seem anal but at least i am not getting gum on my pants let alone needles and other sick $hit. |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Quote:
AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, rarely written Aids) is a disease characterized by the destruction of the human immune system. It stands today as a global epidemic, that originated in sub-Saharan Africa during the twentieth century. Although there are treatments to hinder the progress of AIDS, there is yet no known cure or vaccine. but besides, it's improperly called AIDS by many. it starts as HIV, which can be transferred through needles/bodily fluids. it takes about 12 years for it to become full-fledged AIDS, which then greatly weakens your immune system in an incredible amount of time, and it's not actually AIDS that is the direct cause of your death, but what it does is basically turns your immune system against itself and takes it out, then anything as small as the common cold can kill you because your immune system cannot fight it off |
Re: UK residents :: Shocking 'trend' Oh jeez, thank goodness it's an old wive's tale. I recieved an e-mail from a friend with this story in it. I'll still continue to check public seats, however, because if this old wive's tale falls into the wrong hands, who knows what sick person would try and copy it? To be honest with you, I'd still be pretty freaked out if that happened to me, even after reading the Snopes report. I'd run out of the theatre and fly out of the parking lot and down the highway to the medical center at 95 - 100 mph. |
