The closest thign relating to that i can think of are little signs with advertisements on them that they have at beaches or in cities...

Not sure what they are called though, i'd go with Notice Bulletins...

If they have a specific name, I've never heard it.

And if no other English speaking people have ever heard of it, and online translators/translation dictionaries don't give you a word for it, then it's safe to say that you could probably get away with any of the terms given here.

I personally would call it "a big frickin' post with adverts 'n shit on it". I suggest you go with that one.

I would just call it useless!! We dont have these in the US. Except for when people put posters on light poles....other then that we prefer to have our stuff flat so you can read it easier I think...

PA are there any in France? Been going now for 6 yrs and don't remember seeing any?? Maybe it due to I drink too much Pastis when I am there.....Oh and by the way I will be in Cassis 5/23-6/10....
