Die Another Day

What do you all think of this movie?
You prolly have all seen it around X-Mas, but stupid ppl here didn't let it come out till 9th January, they were afraid that ppl wouldn't go see the movie, because LOTR:Two Towers and Harry Potter were also just out, so I had to wait and wait.
Saw it yesterday night.

I'm kinda a Bond-fan, saw all the movies, except for the 3 newest ones, at least 3 times. Some ppl say this movie isn't better than The World is not enough and Tomorrow never Dies, but I think it's at least better than The world is not enough. Maybe not Tomorrow never Dies, that was a very good Bond-movie. But I think it's one of the better Bond-movies ever made, but many of 'em are. It's at least not the worst movie, that's On her mayesty's secret service, thanks to Lazanby, he screwed the movie all up...
I really enjoyed the new one, nice story-line, lots of action, so you could say it's at least of the same good-rate as Goldeneye...

I'm just wondering what you all think of this movie...

I liked it. The Pyro was great, the cars were exelent (I wish I had a car the could camouflage itself) and of course the high tec toys were cool. I would have to say that my favourit scene was at the end, the part with Money Penny and the simulator. That was and evil scene to put in and almost had me going, for a moment I actually though t it was real.

Dutchman January 19th, 2003 01:37 PM

I had the same impression.
I already thought: "wait this can't be, they can't do that, it doesn't fit in the Bond-history" But when you see Q I thought: "ah, just a joke :)"
What did you think of John Cleese?
I think he did an excellent job as Q, nice acting. Too bad he hadn't much 'time' in the movie, I mean you didn't saw him much...

(Maestro, 2 seats? Did you need 2 seats for yourself or did you go with a (girl)friend?)

Private_Maestro January 19th, 2003 01:41 PM

Well, of course I take up two seats !;)

Mr. Fawlty, thats what I remember him as ! Yeah, he is very good as Q, or R (if you've seen "the world is no enough")

Tanner_6984 January 19th, 2003 01:48 PM

I think they are trying to introduce him better.

Private_Maestro January 19th, 2003 01:54 PM

No, I did go with my girlfriend:love: :naughty: ...:o

Tanner_6984 January 19th, 2003 01:56 PM

You took your girlfriend to a James Bond movie!?
Thats a new one.
Mind you I have never had a girlfriend before.

Private_Maestro January 19th, 2003 01:58 PM

HAHA, look whos laughing now !

:fistpunch:

Tanner_6984 January 19th, 2003 02:21 PM

Hey! I just don't have the time. Next year I will be graduating high school! I have to work my ass off to keep my marks up and to help do all the extra work that needs to be done at our school. Not to mention the sports I participate in!

They introduced him good in "The world is not enough" Especially with the joke of Bond: "If you are Q, then he must be R"
And John Cleese the the right man for it, he's got humor and good one too. Like Bond says (in Die Another Day): "You know Q, you are more clever than you look" Q:"Always better than looking more clever than you are...":lol::lol:
That gadgets-room was nice too, and also Bond messing up with everything...
Or when he is in that Simulator, he shots M, and Q thinks she's dead. But Bond says: "Rewind it and you'll see that she only has a fleshwound"

Definately the best Bond film to date!
Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike - heaven!

:naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

and who do you see in my avatar? :D:D:D

They both did a very good job. I think this is the biggest difference between this Bond-movie and all the others. Now the women are 'heroes' too, can fight and shoot and all the stuff Bond can do too. And that makes a big difference, cuz now Bond isn't the only 'strong' person, except for THE villian, in the movie.

I also like the character Zao, nice done with the diamonds in his face. And you also know why those diamonds are in his face.

And the exchange of Bond for Zao. You think, and Bond does too, that the North-Koreans will shot Bond. And then he has to move with his back to the soldiers, the general shouts something and they're gone. And Bond starts walking, and till that time you're thinking (at least I did) that it's a pier into the sea, nice done with the fog, but then you realize it's a bridge over a river...

Private_Maestro January 20th, 2003 07:48 AM

I don't like the avatar Dutchman, sorry...

I like how they developed the story of how Bond managed to break out of the hospital thingy and get to Cuba(or wherever it was) and made it very entertaining.

And also Tanner started the off topic thing, and Dutchman asking me if I took up two seats :D :fistpunch:

Dutchman January 20th, 2003 12:34 PM

I like the part where Bond gets his car.
You see that rail-thing coming in, and Q says: "here's your new transport..."
lol
cloaked car, hmmm nice :D:D:D
He uses the cloaking very good, using his spikes to ride backwards onto that wall, so Zao doesn't know where he is... hehehe

Tanner_6984 January 20th, 2003 08:19 PM

I want a car like that, ohh the things I could do
I would just like to point out that if they were trading me out of prison I would rather break Zao's neck and get shot that be traded, I could never come home to the humilliation that it would bring to my family, and if they didn't shoot me I would still have a chance to run to the other side and figure something. (I would probably jump in the river and dive and make a swim for it, let my side pick me up later.)
