I like fascism.I think it rules.I say GF is 8/10.

But,being serious,I think these forums rule..I dont find the staff to be soo harsh or anything..Its simple,you use these forums correctly,have fun,don't continuously break the rules,and you're fine.
You keep on messing around,obviously the staff will have to be harsh with you.Its their JOB.

Whenever there are strict rules being enforced anywhere the people in charge are called nazi's..

I havent been on GF for very long, but i have never had any problems with the staff here, i rarely venture out of the "Forgotten Hope" section, but then again i wish people in general had a higher tolorance for controversial topics..

Exactly, all these rules are here for a reason. People will always complain when rules must be enforced.

The GF officials do exercise some control over GF, but only the right amount needed to maintain a forum. Besides, of all the forums I've seen, GF has some of the best staff. If I had a list of my favorite members, an overwhelming majority would be moderators or administrators. But Mr. Matt is still on it.

And all that is is a popularity contest. The person who has the most friends is the one elected, which is never the best one. (Just like in real politics)...

But I think there should be staff elections.

The word "fascist" is a bit strong, but I certainly think some mods jump too conclusions too fast. And some have serious attitude probs...:moon: I almost fell into the trap of agreeing with some of those "things". Some moderators are typically hypocritical. Without getting the rule-book here...

Instances that without real reason messages were gone at the end of a topic while harmless, and a mod places his own message with a BS reason at the end and closing the topic while fresh, happen too much. Now the stupid thing...very old threads with the same kind of similarity as mentioned above, are not removed or closed, sometimes months old.

Furthermore free speach is an illusion of this world. No body is really free, there's always someone who feels better, or has more power, bringing fear and loathinghttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gif .

Well there is not free speech here, and sometimes thats good and sometimes its bad. No1 wants to come to a forum where people just flame all the time, that gets old. But you gotta allow enough ragging on to keep it interesting (and then the special designated forum for flaming only).

I think at times the decisions to close the threads could be reconsidered, but when you consider a moderator/admin force of mabey a hundred (i dont kno the exact number), compared with something like 100,000 registered users, im sure its quite a strain to police every forum down to the Sims modding and editing. So overall I think they do a good job :thumbsup:

personally, i think that GF is in many ways very CONTRADICTIVE FASCISM. i really despise the fact that some people with their sigs/avatars/ and names have gotten away with so much. for example the whole subject regarding reference to Nazism. Why has this issue just been adressed in recent weeks/months when it has gone on for as long as i can possibly remember.yet, by same token, i get criticised simply for the old name i had within weeks of first being here over any sort of anti-religious reference i may or may not have intended. i suppose i'm still pissed in a way that whoever was offended by my name didnt have the balls to confront me themselves.instead they had to get a Mod to confront me for them. some of you [GF as a whole] are just too sensetive, this even easily applies to any Admins/Mods. yes i know its a hard reality but deal with it. you're going to live in a world where there are people such as myself who like to express themselves - and its your responsibility to react in the most suitable and rational manner. this is afterall, an online environment - if each and everyone one of us were to take certain sensetive issues to heart over how someone presents their views or expresses themselves through creative efforts via avata/forum name,etc. we'd all be subjecting ourselves to non-needed cardiac arrests from getting pissed all the time and spending so much pointless time and effort arguing or trying to make a point. in the end none of it matters.

With all this aside, i think that the structure of GF needs some serious work on ethics and where to draw the line to sucesfully establish what is acceptable for all.
i see the wrong people getting away with much, and the people who intend no harm at all catching most of the heat.
