I gave five. Freedom of speech is good and all, but too much of it will let a society crumble under it's own strength. The leadership system as far as I can see is fair enough, all the staff are respectable and make good role models for the other members. There will always be slip-ups, but we can't defend an entire arguement on the basis of a single mistake.

Okay, I understand now.

For the new guys: I was a "normal" member for over a year before I became a mod.

Anyway, I never felt that I couldn't express my self freely and I never had any problem at all with the staff under my (what is it? 15-16 months?) here at GF.

In a way it is voluntairly. It's up to you if you break the rules, and if you break the rules you get punished. Simple as.

exactly right. also, consider that every staff member here with the exception of n0e is a volunteer. they work hard and all they get in return is shit. therefore, i can be seen to be a little harsh on those who fuck with my staff.

i appreciate them, all of them. they put up with a lot of bullshit and come out smiling. they provide a safe environment for those who wish to participate on these forums and they get nothing but crap. would you act any different in my position? i have a duty to protect the staff members who in turn have a duty to protect the members from the attacks and influence of undesireables.

if anyone wants to fuck with the staff here or the members then they are fucking with me and my retribution will be absolute. in that respect, yes we are totalitarian. i'll take no crap from anyone.

however, if you get on with enjoying the forums and don't piss off the staff it's all good.

Indeed. Myself and I'm sure many other members on these forums are admin's or moderators on other forums and they too would no doubt supprort these views.

Yeah I agree. I voted a four due to some of the authority but for the most part it is well placed.

I have to say, I think mac has a point. Theres been a few instances that I don't agree with. But hey, what can I do, its a fuckin website.
