Bus Drivers Does anyone think that bus drivers should earn more, because everyday the lives of people/children are in their hands? Shouldn't they get paid for the responsibility they have? |
Re: Bus Drivers no they're fine. if we start like this, u could go over to the idea that others should get less, some ppl should get more etc etc, and what does that lead to? communism, where some crappy casheer gets more money than a high school teacher. |
Re: Bus Drivers They should get paid for driving a bus, wich is the wage of a bus driver, they agree to the wage when they get the job... Shouldent we pay everyone for driving because every day there putting the lives of the people they drive arround and past in danger? Same with any activity really. |
Re: Bus Drivers No they shouldn't get responsibility pay as buses are deemed to be a very safe method of transport and they only get the job after displaying responsibility in driving. Buses aren't hard to drive, whereas Aircraft are, and you are alot more likely to die if something goes wrong in an aircraft. |
Re: Bus Drivers so should the army men , teachers and many more too ;) |
Re: Bus Drivers Our buses gears completely went one day, and the driver just drove on as if nothin had happened. And kuz he couldn't stop, we had to JUMP off the bus at our stops! |
Re: Bus Drivers I think they should get paid less, for dangerous driving... I've nearly been forced off the road by oncoming buses three times in the past 12 months. |
Re: Bus Drivers Bus drivers START at more than $10 and hour, thats 2 or 3 more than teachers. Teachers are much more important in my opinion, they do more work and are more involved with children. They need no more money spent on them. |
Re: Bus Drivers yea they do more work then just driving a but for 30 minutes to 2 hours at most so is that harder then a teachers job??? heh if it is somethings wrong......i think that bus driver job is really a side job for a person that works 2 jobs and its just something to make a little xtra money unless they work that the school. |
Re: Bus Drivers I agree with Patey13 i think the pay is crap and they should get more. Teaching is a doddle and the pay is fine. |

Re: Bus Drivers I don't know much about busdriver wages but they don't need extra money because they make sure the passengers arrive at their destination safely. Only if they are underpayed compared to other jobs and the difficulty of their job they should be payed more, and aslong as i dont see any strikes because how unfair they are treated/payed it doesnt seem like they need it. |
Re: Bus Drivers It is sad how some people classify bus driving as something for people who don't know how to do anything else. My busdriver is incredibly intelligent. I don't know anyone else who can debate philiosophy as well as he can. |

Re: Bus Drivers I don't think that bus divers (of school buses) should be paid any more or less than those who drive track buses (the larger, luxurious ones). |

Re: Bus Drivers He enjoys driving noisy whining teenagers everywhere? |
Re: Bus Drivers Not all teenagers are loud. Besides, he also has an elementary school run. |
Re: Bus Drivers When you say for fun, does he receve wage? |

Re: Bus Drivers schoolbuses or 16 year old? We dont have any schoolbuses here at all and if there where any they probably would be for the first 4 classes of primairy school. Teens can come by bike or public transport. |

youre a bus driver, arent you? |
Re: Bus Drivers Ha ha, yeah, thats what I thought when I read that, too... |
Re: Bus Drivers yes, subliminal messaging.... Anyway, i don't think that bus drivers should be paid more, but rather get free access to a school psychologist....becuase they need it after a day of kids screaming in the bus trips. They are paid enough as is but they need benefits, kinda like everyone else. |
Re: Bus Drivers Im not a bus driver! I just ask about my beliefs! |
Re: Bus Drivers i am not a bus driver but have been a truck driver and i can tell you that the most dangerous things to haul are people and liquids . just like liquids weigth distribution in a bus is not constant so the handling on the vehicle will never be the same for every trip which means that you have to really know the equipment you are operating and be able to think way ahead when it comes to the reoad while at the same time have excellent customer service skills, specialle on charter or tour buses . this requires a lot of skill and experience . that is why bus drivers get a lot of respect at any truck stop and the level of responsability deserves better pay |
