You can read all these absolutely ridiculous suggestions of faulty electronics, kids fooling you, and suchlike, but we all know the truth. Your car has developed a mind of its own. And it is angry. The next step is for it to begin accelerating uncontrollably while you drive it, as it tries to kill itself, its occupants and everyone around it... or, something like that. Could just be faulty electronics I guess. But I think my explanation is far more likely.

dude, wierd story. didnt some of your neighbors say "what the hell is that Thompson boy doin with his parents car???" and come over to check it out?
anyway, selll the car, move out, forbid your parents from ever buyin a Jeep again.
No one came to investigate because I live out in the middle of nowhere. My nearest neighbor is 1.2 blocks away. I would sell the car, but I'm getting it for my 16th birthday. I don't want to be carless! Then again, I would rather be alive than have an insane murderous car trying kill me.
Did you check under the hood of the car? It's usually nice and warm there and some animal might have gotten into it and chewed on some wires. Then those wire might contact every now and then and start the honking...

Hmmm, I never thought of that. There have been some mice in my garage lately, so I'll go check.
Ok, lifted up the hood and didn't find any animals, nests, or lose/chewed wiring. However, I did find a few pieces of grass/hay which might indicate a nest at one time, but it had clearly been abandoned for months, so I don't think that that was the cause.
