Actually no, it's just in my nature to respect my parents
That's refreshing... I may even adopt you.

is that to say that you've been thinking about wanting kids, zer0sum ?
In all seriousness, if my finances were, how shall we put it, healthier..then there would be nothing to stop me being a father.
Not having any family this is my aim, but I will only begin once everything is in place & I feel I have sufficient stability in all aspects of my life. I may be unlucky in that I cannot find the mother I want for my children but speaking more than 1 language I have a larger potential selection to pick from than most.

i think that in my opinion, there are quite a few guys that eventually want to settle down to have a wife and child and to develop a strong family of their own, but i think that people want to grow up way too soon and take on those responsibilites when they're not even close to really being ready for it [as you mentioned, being financially stable, etc].it certainly is a whole different world then when it was in the 70's / early 80's when our parents were getting married at the age of 23 - 24. these days, as far as what i can observe from friends of mine getting married and others that i know quite well of, marriage and the whole family idea wasnt something they considered being any younger then 26 or 27 years old.
