I worked for Honda a while back, shipped out more than few parts for that bike (and many others). Honda's motorcycle division got hit hard in sales over the last year with the entire recession, forget the number, but it was considerable.

I like the CBR 600RR, not as big, but still a beauty. Maybe in a couple of years when I can afford one since a bike isn't useful year-round in Canada and I'd be better off with a car for now.

I love it in that black and green.

Damn, I gotta get my motorcycle license.

What are your thoughts on less sporty motorcycles, a la Harley Davidson?

I like that old BMW motorcycle with sidecar.

Some of the old Harleys look nice too (very similar to this BMW, actually).

They're expensive as hell, but very cool. If you're going to get a cruiser, you only have two real choices, in my opinion. Harley Davidson and Triumph.

I'm not big into the massive rumbling twins and tons of chrome (my idea of a twin is a Ducati!). But they are timelessly cool bikes, no doubt about it. I'd say get an older one, before fuel injection. Easier to do your own work on a carb motor than a EFI one.

Tumpys are cool as hell too, especially the smaller ones. Unlike the Japanes brands (Star/Yamaha, Suzuki, etc...) they don't try and mimic the Harley sound. A Triumph sounds good in it's own way, and they know it.\

The Bonneville

America

One of my favorite non-sport bikes out there, the Thruxton.

BMW makes great bikes, and they have the best warranty in the business. Japanese brands only go for one year, Italians do two. Zee Germans do a 3 year, and they hold up their end of the bargain too.

There's an old 1938 BMW for sale back at a dealership up in Chicago, mint condition. Only $19,000. As much as a new Harley, but tons classier.

Superbike sales dropped 50%, internationally. Ducati, Honda, Suzuki, etc... All way down.

Get a cheap car that'll work, and then get a bike. Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul. Just remember...

WEAR YOUR DAMN GEAR.
ALL OF IT.
ALL THE TIME.
NO EXCUSES.

The Triumphs are definitely interesting as well. I hear you can jump over border fences and almost outrun the Nazis with those
