Put my IBA and ACH in the trunk of my car, closed it, and the rear window caved in. Maybe it's defective glass, probably it's sun damage (100+ degree days aren't good for any car, let alone a green over black one). USAA has people coming out tomorrow to fix it.
Moral of the story, keep your windows cracked. Always.
USAA is sending a team out tomorrow to fix this crap.
As well as those things it could well be air pressure inside the car (which high temperatures could increase as well I guess).
The car I have is known for it, something to do with the design of the rear window causes the air pressure inside to be too high and so there's a chance that once the cars get a bit old and the glass has been weakened over time one of the windows will crack, shatter or even blow out when the boot lid is closed. It's such a notorious problem with the car that someone actually developed a modification to solve it - it was already fitted to mine when I bought the car. What happens is that when the boot lid is opened the passenger side window opens about an inch and it closes itself a few seconds after the boot is closed, allowing the pressure to escape.
Had a coke can blow up inside my truck last month.
Crazy, I'm looking forward to a cold front to blow in later this week. A high of only 95 for one day only then it climbs up again. Of course it was suppose to come tomorrow but I see they are saying 102 instead
Odd, I live somewhere where its constantly from 40 degrees in the summer to -25 in the winter (104 and -13 for you Americans.) and Ive never seen that before....
That's rough man. Very strange though, I wouldn't doubt the heat/pressure theory, goes to show how well your car is sealed though, if that makes you feel any better :/
