| Hey guys, I've been shopping around for a while now and these are the cars that stick out for me. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Right now i'm thinking the A4 just for the quattro, but the BMW is a bit nicer on the outside . What do you guys think?

| Definitely the A4, it has both quattro, turbo and more power. Neither is rare or pretty on the outside, but the beemer sure doesn't have anything on the Audi.

| Actually it does have price, a better warranty and a nicer inside as well. The quattro is awesome, during the test drive I really felt the cornering was much much better due to that. It is nice on the outside as well though, I like them both equally esthetically. Power wise you are correct it is turbo, but they both have 200hp approximately so i'm not sure if there is a big big difference. I'm not looking for a rare car in particular either just a nice luxury sedan in the 40-50 price range. Keep in mind cars are more expensive in Canada than the US hehe.

| When you start considering the warranty of a car an important factor you should have though about your pension plan a long time ago. ![]() Quote:

![]() They obviously aren't executive car expensive, but you would have a very hard time finding even a used 2008 BMW 316i for that money here.

| Last I checked, an A4 is around 40 000€ on the west coast in Finland. Also, I'd go for the A4 because of the slick outside, well-designed interior, great handling and of course the turbo. The Audi sound system is also a plus in my book. |

| If the BMW makes the same power as the turbocharged Audi then it seems the BMW would be more reliable in the long term. Turbo engines in general need more miantenance and god help you if you miss a couple of oil changes. The Beemer is also a inline six cylinder. Sounds wicked once they get hopped up a wee bit.

| Nah, turbocharged cars, especially Audis, are known to last forever if you aren't dumb enough to avoid changing oils when specified and letting the turbo cool down for a while after driving and are prepared to pay a little (well, not little, but several hundred even if you do the work yourself, which I can say from experience to be an extreme PITA) for a new turbocharger when the old one dies at some unknown point after 200 000 km (could last the double or die after ten miles after that). If oil changes are too much of a hassle for you, sure, don't get the Audi, but don't get the beemer either, it too is a vulnerable piece of technology that won't like being that seriously abused, get something immortal such as an old '80s or early '90s Toyota Corolla with the tech of a horse cart... I'm still voting for the Audi, but if extreme reliability and lack of maintenance is what you want, get the Corolla, suffer and pay me the difference as compensation for this invaluable advice. I'll make sure to invest it wisely in old, extremely unreliable and very complicated products of the French car industry. ![]() EDIT: Or if you want to be truly epic (well, in my eyes at least), instead of buying those old geezer-mobiles, get a Citroën SM, you should easily be able to get a well restored one within your budget. I certainly would if I had that kind of money. ![]() Anyone who does not find those extremely cool is plain insane, whilst both of the cars you have looked at are quite meh for a lot of people. Besides, it was Motor Trend Car of the Year. In 1972. ![]() It might not be as fast as either of those, but you could park it next to a Ferrari and it still wouldn't look dull or ugly, and it has a Maserati V6 with a sound to match. EDIT2:
