| The citroen is very nice, but we don't have those in Canada . I am going for the BMW, I drove it and it is just as nice as the AUDI, minus the Quattro.

| They did sell them there back in those days, but not too many, so importing one from the US (as some people here do, only two were bought here as new, now there is a total of 19 in the country) would probably be the easiest option. I only saw one on Ebay at the moment, in California, and it was unrestored although in good shape, they certainly aren't something you can walk into your closest dealership and buy by the dozen. Besides living with one as an everyday car requires true dedication, I wouldn't expect anyone really sane to do that. Well, I guess the BMW is alright if you want to ignore the opinions of the majority. ![]() Seriously though, I'm sure you will be happy with it, the two aren't that different apart from the Quattro and bad image of BMW-drivers (that's probably only an issue in Europe), so good luck and keep it on the road.

| Idiots that don't care about other traffic sums it up, at least for these parts of Europe. Whenever someone drives over a police officer, what car manufacturers product is your first guess for the murder weapon? That's right. There are shorter ways to put it, but they wouldn't be appropriate.

| In Finland it's considered a "bad boy car". BMW also tops the traffic accidents statistics in Finland, if I recall correctly. |

| Posers, people who need certain parts of their anatomy/personality 'bolstered', drug dealers, ignorant road users, old businessmen with no imagination... in fact I can't think of a good stereotype for BMW drivers. If you go for the Z3/Z4 that makes you a hairdresser with a rich and gullible husband, but that's about it. BMW is to cars what Ferrero Rocher is to chocolates - overpriced, desired by people who don't know any better, but when you bite into it, you expected so much more for your money. Unless you get an M3.

| Well they really aren't overpriced here, i'd say they are less expensive than the other's in its class. Oh and I don't need the car to make up for a lack of anything hehe

| Every friend I have who has owned a BMW has had several reliability issues. Generally BMW are better to lease then to buy mostly due the issues with their electrical systems. Similar problems plague Mercedes Benz as well. My friends family owns three BMWs all of which have electrical issues. One of their cars electrics went fubar after only 6 years and after words they could no longer oped the driver's side door from the inside. That said I don't know if the more modern BMW's suffer from the same issues (I hope they corrected them by now) but I have heard nothing but bad things about their iDrive system. As for Audi, well they compete in the same price range but are far less common, In the U.S. at least. I don't know their reliability history since I don't know any friend or family member who has ever bought one. Where I live Audi's are pricey and the lack of familiarity with the brand makes them less popular. I do notice that Audi's don't depreciate as fast as BMW but they also are harder to find with all the options you want.

| Eh, there are too many GTIs out there for us to be able to know which one you mean just from those three letters, but I suppose you are talking about the Volkswagen Golf GTI? Not a bad choice if that indeed is what you went for.
