232hp for a 6.0L V12???

I understand its liquid hydrogen but thats not a very good power output at all. IIRC 6.0L is about 400 cubic inches. A good output would be about .82hp per cubic inch. That engine is making about .58hp per cubic inch.

I can only guess the engine is still under development.

IMHO they could make better power running one of the alcohol fuels such as Methanol.

I commend them on the other technical advances.

It's cool that they're getting somewhere with the whole liquid hydrogen technology, but why did BMW make it so friggin' ugly?

My thoughts exactly, although 6.0L is actually only 366ci (so it gets a boost to .63hp/ci; not good at all, especially for folks like me).
Gain points for being unique, but lose them for taking this long (Chrylser debuted a working fuel cell in the '50s). Styling is also typical BMW (that is, bad).
