October was listed as the release date on Steam for a very long time now.

True, but the retail market has had it listed at late September. Now that much of a move really.

The retail market is always behind it seems. Even at one of their demonstrations this year they said October 2008.

I just purchased this on Steam when I saw this trailer. I was iffy at first, but not anymore.

Well, they originally promised 50 square kilometers, now it's down to 15, which is about the size Crysis is. And Crysis is fun as hell, otherwise i wouldn't have spent 100 hours on it, would i?

Can you give me a link to back up your claim where it has been reduced to 15km2? So far I can't find anything to support that.

It's also a matter of preference, like the original Far Cry, I see Crysis as more of a tech bench than anything else. Also, to say that Far Cry 2 will simply become another Crysis is rather naive, hell, Ubisoft Montreal, not Crytek are making it...
