Very first sig

This is the first ever sig I have made. I did it using this tutorial. Very Basic Sig Tutorial

It didn't take me very long I didn't go into great detail when making it.

What do you guys think? If you have any suggestions on what to do to improve it, please give me instructions on how too as well.

not bad, the only suggestion I would give is that it appears empty in the middle. Maybe don't make it so wide, close the gap between your text & your render. Other than that it's a great start.

Cool thanks. So you mean make the width smaller?

Is there anyway I can make the width smaller without having to start again?

well one way is this: Currently your 600x100. open a new layer say 400x100. Copy your sig and paste it twice. Slide each layer over to match the left and right then erase the center till it looks right. Set your erase hardness low so the two copies fade together.

Ok thanks for that. Here's my next one.



It's got the cloud render again. How do I get/make different backgrounds?

Also how can I remove images from their background to get them onto the sig better because when you look at Tom Araya (the far right guy) you can see it's clearly been cut out. Do I need to somehow blend the image in?

you can use the smudge tool & blend that way, or use the lasso tool, set feather to 5 px & go round the outside & cut it out.

I'm trying to use the smudge tool but it's not doing anything. I set the hardnes to 100 and made the brush huge but still nothing's happening. I must be doing something wrong.

I did better with cutting the image out this time.

What did you cut it out from? The rendering is flawless. You can get pre cut images, aka Renders from sites like www.planetrenders.net and www.gamrenders.com.

Mine's not pre-cut. I just used the lasso tool around it, then carefully erased the background.
