Default Capturaing Stills from movie files...

Any one know how to take stills from mpeg files?

I'm trying to get some from Thumb Wars of crunchy ( my hero) and I've tried print screens of it running in media player and realpayer. How/What can I use to stop the film turning blank or invisible when I paste it in paint or photoshop.

Use a printscreen program (such as gadwin's printscreen, it's free) and then change the settings to capture the active program and run your media player at full screen and take the screenshot.

you need a program like adobe image ready to break the video into frames, from there, you select the frames you want from the video and paste them into a new image, and save.

Isn't that only for GIf/MPEG, etc though? I'll have to go check. You've gotten my attention...

This signature unintentionally left unfunny.

I didn't know ImageReady could do that, and it's an mpeg, but it says invalid movie file format (I think it's because it's DivX encoded), so now I'm off to try Großadmiral Dönitz's way.

:EDIT:
Sir Gadwins waste of 5 minutes i say. It did the same thing as the others.
If worst comes to worst i could just take a photo of the screen.

:EDIT 2:
Fraps works fine and i had it all along!
