Is Photoshop really worth the $650+ I have to pay for it, and why?
If not, is there a better alternative?
If so, please explain why the alternative is more of a value than Photoshop.
Thanks for the help

Try out the trial version and see for yourself if it is worth it.

It depends what you're going to do with it.
If your just going to do sigs etc then it isn’t worth it; if you've a slightly more serious use for it then it's worth the outlay.

Well, I think I am just gonna be doing sigs...maybe some other stuff, but not anything professional.
I certainly love and use Photoshop 8 CS a lot (I got it from my brother, so it is free, heh). But for 650$ I don't know, just buy a used one from ebay if possible.

Photoshop elements is porbably your salvation. Theres not much you can do in ps that you can't do in pse. It costs about $100.
Also try The Gimp. Thats absolutly free and quite powerfull.

Except I have a current alowance of $10 per week so it is gonna be a looong time to save up for it.
