Need some help...

I want to make a sig banner to replace my existing sig. I'm not going to be including any of the existing links, I just want to leave in the contact info (minus the Cool Mods stuff & maybe the in-game names). My main problem is the background art. I've been messing around with Photoshop for a few hours now & have come up pretty empty handed. Any suggestions or helpful site links would be appreciated. Thanks.

Late Edit: I'd also like to add something stating I am staff. I can help out with most forum matters so... I dunno, something to think about. Again, any help would be appreciated.

So all you want is...
Quote:

In-Game Names
Marker0077 (normal name)
Obi-wannabe (practice name)
Bar Upstairs from AA Building (drinking name)

Contact Info
ICQ: 16442029
AOL, Yahoo, Jabber, & IRC (QuakeNet): Marker0077
Cool Mods E-Mail: MoH @ Cool-Mods.com or JK @ Cool-Mods.com
E-Mail & MSN IM: Marker0077 @ Hotmail.com (*** anywhere in subject or won't get email)
If so, is an animation okay having it display in-game names on one layer, and contact info on the second? As for art, what are you looking for? Do you want stock images in it, or just something abstract using filters and tools?

Ya that's fine, I was kinda hoping for something more stylish than a 2 frame slideshow but whatever works.

That's the main problem I am having, I'm not sure. I supermod the Medal of Honor & Jedi Knight forums & I also do some development work for them as well. It would be nice to have something that blends the 2 together but at this point, I just want to get something going.

I already know my way around PS pretty good but I'm not incredibly familiar with most of the filters & such. I'll look into it more tomorrow. I have to go to bed now (work tomorrow) but I'll be sure to check it out when I get home.

Thanks for your help fellas.

So I messed around a bit & here's what I came up with...
http://www.gamingforums.com/attachme...id=14354&stc=1

http://www.gamingforums.com/attachme...id=14355&stc=1

Obviously the only problem here is filesize, which I'm not real thrilled about. The graphics detail isn't so great either but in order to do animations, I have to use gif.

Hey you're just being honest, that's what I want. I'm not real stoked about it myself but hey, it's a start.

Kerian, if you adjust the optimisation settings, you can get rid of the grainy effect, its called "Dither" I think, it increases filesize slightly, but looks much better.

You realize we are saving this in GIF format right? GIF images only allow a 255 color pallette, but I will try it out.

I just got back from work fellas & I didn't get a wink of sleep last night, I'm going to crash out for a bit. Again, thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it. I'll play around with this some more once I get some rest.

Re: Need some help...

Couldn't find "Dither" anywhere in the output settings in Adobe ImageReady.

Re: Need some help...

Okay. First, make everything in photoshop - all layers, blendings, filters, effects.
Then go to ImageReady, make frames and export:
File > Save Optimized As
The new window will appear. Choose 2 frame look - you will see original and exported one. At the right side of the window you will find stuff to adjust - some settings, dither settings, too

Re: Need some help...

Uh, sorry. In both photoshop and image ready, you have a small windows like layers, info, history, etc. In imageready you have new window avaible: Optimize. There you can set number of colours, etc.
