woops, forgot to mention that.

Vehical treads are a pain in the ass to code and animate i think. I cant remember if you can even do it with the MDK. We might have to settle for wierd looking tiger treads.

McGibs, I am pretty sure I have seen some AFVs not from vanilla BF42 with the correct tracks and road wheels. I am sure they are hard to "make" but I think it can be done.

actaully yeh, now that i think about it, the stugs have their own road wheels and treds right?

I think the Panzer III and IV share the same track links and have different road wheels. They would have different animation I believe.

The one on the right is BG42's Panther. Their panther looks better in my opinion, mostly because the texture on BG42's Panther is better. I think that the FH Panther needs work on both the texture and the model.

seeing as people without forum regestry cant view that, heres BGs panther

This one does look quite a bit better (the skin is prety crappy, but the model is nice)

What the hell is the tank with the pnzr4 chazzis and panther turret in that one winter BG map then???

It needs some tweaking yes, but judging by the the other improvments you have done with the other vehicles so far made up my mind that this one isn't done yet, and that it will look awesome once it is :nodding:

Even though this is a A model Panther and is a WIP, this is what your Panther should be by the time it is done (no flaming intended):

Re: German Panther D

alright, I write this post in all honesty...

it seems that some of the FH team doesn't present the same "ability" as other members. This may not be a bad thing but it is definately present. The Panther definately needs a total overhaul in my opinion becuase it lacks the detail, quality, and attention that have made other aspects of FH so great. Subbo's StugIII took over 400 layers in PS to produce that quality of a tank and several weeks of modelling to get such a detailed and reasonable polied vehicle.

I feel FH needs to really focus on the quality of the vehicles they are producing now considering they are already moving on to 0.6. Hundreds of models haven't found their skins yet, or their coding (I know you guys still haven't released everything you've been working on for 0.6 so maybe more models have been done)...but the average gamer is going to expect something around DC quality. FH at 0.6 should be fairly equivalent in quality to DC, which is getting more and more amazing as the releases move on...

Commendable Skinners/Modellers on the FH team that I've seen so far:

Lobo
Subbo
Raze
MasterMinder
Dfast

Fh should utilize these talented team members more than anything, and Omni, you've been on the FH team for a very long time, but it might be wise to learn from these members. I'm in no way trying to be a dick, but honest. I'm giving criticism for once because that's what I thought these forums were for, not just praise. If the FH team can't understand their faults then they can't expect to get better. I am really looking forward to the 0.6 release and I hope that you guys just don turn your head on all my comments and criticisms that are in my mind...I'm not flaming...I'm just voicing an honest opinion...
