German Gewehr 43 Rifle On the Eastern Front the Germans captured many Tokarev 7.62mm SVT38s and '40s self-loading rifles. The Tokarev rifle employed a much simpler but more effective gas-operated mechanism, which was duly copied by the Germans into the Gewehr 41(W). The product was the Gewehr 43. The Gewehr 43 was immediately put into production to replace the Gewehr 41(W). The new model was easier to produce in large quantities and was lighter and easier to reload. As a result it was a popular weapon among the troops. Many short-cuts were incorporated into the manufacturing process. Sometimes wood laminates and plasitc furniture were used. In 1944, a shorter version of the Gewehr 43 was produced, and it was known as the Karabiner 43 even though it was only 50mm shorter. http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com...r_42_Small.jpg |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle yay! non orange brick! |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle but this is a sniper rifle isn't it? |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle I'm assuming its both, just like the curret one. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle the scope is probably on the shot to show the fans that they modeled a new (and better) scope for it. In ww2, it was first a standard rifle and then some got a scope since it was very good for sniper rifle use, like many things in life. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle It's not great, but it's certainly an improvement. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle i think the model is great and doesn't need much more, the skin is a little off but can easily be improved. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle it also has to do with the fact that the picture is so fuggin small! It's like 1/3rds smaller then all the other renders. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Nice. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle can't blame me for the size of the render.. im not the one who renders them, that is up to the artists who create it. All i do is post ;) and try to fix spelling errors!! Man those spelling errors .. whew those take forever. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle nice! |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Quazi- Will there be an un-scoped version of the new G43? |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle PFC. Bryan "Quazi- Will there be an un-scoped version of the new G43?" Im not sure... I doubt it tho... but your guess is as good as mine. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Quote:

Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle If you mean the pic on the forum is too small, go to the main site, they have all the pictures there and you can enlarge them to a decent size. Harry |

Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle NICE. Great work guys! |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Sweet. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle I like it! |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle It's better, but still needs work. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Skin needs more work and the butt plate needs to be duller. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Well... the new one looks slightly better than the old one... but unfortunately the quality of FHs weapon models is still worse than the in other mods (Red Orchestra, DoD). I think that this is a problem of the BF42 engine... i haven`t seen any BF42 mod with really good looking weapon models yet. Well, i hope there will be an unscoped version of this new G43 in FH 0.6 too. The actual G43 - i am sorry i have to say this - looks just terrible. :-( |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Of course there will be an unscoped version. =) |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle i took some pics of of my G43 for you guys for reference, here ya go! If you need any other pics email me. http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/....php?id=518241 http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/....php?id=518240 |

Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle 1,700 just for the rifle the scope, mount, sunshade, magpouch, mags are a whole diff story. heh if you want i can post pics of my mp40 or artillery luger? |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle OMGZ!!! Artillery Luger! Is it the original Erfurt or one of the Persian contracts? |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle its a double dated WW1 1914/1920 all matching Erf. |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle but as to the G43 i got it from a dealer in Pittsburg at the Max Show , its a military show where dealers come from all over the world too display and sell there military items like mg34's, Fallschirmjager rifles, STG44's, S.S uniforms etc. I met the man who owns Rommel's parade uniform and Hitlers Party Uniform his name is Bill Shea, so i took it that he was a very rich man.Top one if the Erfurt the bottom is a ww2 4 inch. http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/....php?id=518283 |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle lol i know the top one is the erfurt! I love artillery lugers! It's been my dream to own one. *sits next to Spidey who's fantazising about the M1 Garand and starts fantasizing about an erfurt all matching artillery luger* |

Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle Are you a reanactor or just a collector U-Boat? |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle i remember back at some thing i did for last summer in Camp Merill... There was this Colonel who brought a lot of his WWII weapons to the firing range we were at one day. First thing he did was pull out his tommy gun and pull out this 50 round drum, loaded the drum and unloaded into a barrel at the end of the range. That was awesome. Other weapons he brought/has are: BAR, Garand, M1 Carbine, MP40, Kar98, AK47 (semi-auto, but has lots of recoil cuz i got to fire it), i think he also brought a grease gun, lugar, i think a sten, and some others that i cant remember but he has lots. He told us he has this huge case of firearms from all eras at his house. But we got to watch some guys fire the M1 and MP40. I should have been recording the sounds for BF42... |
Re: German Gewehr 43 Rifle It's spelled Luger not lugar...... |
