is there a possibility of a FH naval battle... i was just wondering if anyone on the FH team or any other modders were planning a naval battle map or mod based on great battleships such as the bismark, hood and the familiar prince of wales. it could be based on a search and destroy type map and it would not even have to be historically accurate. it could include u boats and early carriers and being a water based map couldnt it be made very large? |
They are doing a bismarck map...bismarck, prinz eugene(right?), other boats, and the infamous fairey swordfish that lead torpedo strikes on the ship. |
that will be real cool if they do. its seems so far most naval maps are carrier based with air combat being the focus of everything. |
Yeah, they are producing naval maps and naval units. But the ships takews alot of time to make. |
Also the ships got a little bit more heat. When you got an artillery spotter (man or plane) near the enemy fleet, your battleships can pound the hell out of them while half a map away... That can wreck your carriers day in seconds. |
I cant wait to fly a biplane, that will be a blast!! |
Maximus, it is one of the greatest experiances you will ever have...judging from my Trench Rats testing, anyways... |
i wonder if they can make the damage to the ships centered on the areas where they are hit. examples: hits near the guns would slow down reload time, hits near the rudder/propeller would effect steering and speed. that would make it somewhat realistic but still a blast to play. |
Hey I hope the sound guys go real hardout on the swordfish..I mean it was an open c0ckpit so there should be a nice wind gushing by sound as well as a nice loud engine...should be a real noisy bastard to fly. I love artillery...cant wait to take out ships from the other side of the map. |
We can't respect the exact location of the hit to make changes in the ships behaviour. Probably we'll have destroyable mainturrets, but not 100% sure yet. |
