Yes, they have to work, don't they ! I find I play games to relax, not some hair pulling exercise . Beta's are necessary but have to be clearly marked as such.

I have Siege of Tobruk Night by aj51 working. I'll checkout his other maps as well as the one's by ThomasLX, a Chinese (?) mapper. At least, they are on bf2mod.cn. .cn = China. All here. Confirming reports of playability will be appreciated.

Hi DJBarney.

Glad you still appreciate the Siege of Tobruk Night Map I know I do. It could use a little tweaking when I ever get the chance. Actually I have a few ideas for most maps but it's the TIME, gentlemen, the TIME... *sigh*

I've re-played all my existing fan maps and they basically still work ok under 2.15 - at least, that's MY experience - except for the voice commands which don't seem to work at all . I can't say I'm in love with the "new" control rose / orders function selection screen either. Is there some way I can call bots for ammo? There is now a large amount of mouse scrolling needed to make a selection which I don't much like at all. Oh well. Win some, lose some!

Feel free to include any or all of my maps into a singular "Map Pack" if you wish.

BTW thanks a bunch to those who got SP navmeshed and working for Sidi Rezegh and Giarabub. It was terrible news about the FH2 SP dev's hard drive failure - hope it won't take years to get it back to scratch! In the meantime, well done the other lads who have helped keep the SP community ticking over. Purple hearts all round!

Chiz for now,

It was a motherboard failure according to a post I read here by Bizness.

SO, thanks aj51, hello ! Happy New Year ! Thanks for permission to use your work in a map pack .

Has anyone managed to download any of the Chinese made FH maps (ThomasLX) from the BFSP map DB forum ?

sidi_rezegh ... runs OK ! Enough to make grown man cry .

It does not respond to being put in a renamed directory though (like sidi_rezegh_sp). Does not appear in any menu's. This is essential to rule out any interference with MP. I seem to remember having this problem before and trying to change all references to the install directory, but I got into a muddle. Anyone know how to do this ?

The only way I know for sure to make a stand alone map work with whatever name you want to call it is to use Source Edit and rename everything that has a file reference that points to the old name(s). Painstaking at first until you get the hang of it - and not entirely without frustration - especially if you happen to make one character error somewhere . My own fan map efforts stand as a testament to that problem! Can take a while to track the lil' faulty keystroke buggers down!

Chiz,

That's a corrupted link - the site comes up but immediately it takes you to something called "jamster", a ringtone/music download bs site.
