It's always good to see people using the APC 'properly' too - drive up, disembark the squad and then use the MG to provide cover fire from a distance.
The APCs could definitely use *something* to make them more useful than they are. The Hanomags especially don't get used much at the moment as they're basically mobile coffins - you're better off just taking a truck because at least it's faster/more agile and you get a better field of view when driving.
I kind of like the spawn point idea, but it would be abused (get one carrier behind the lines on Mareth, for example, and the entire Brit team could immediately spawn behind the Axis front). It would be good if you could fight from inside the APC - I do that with the Chevy (if you're in the rear seats you stay inside the flatbed when you press the button to disembark, and you can shoot/spot targets from there).
My suggestion is to make them supply ammo and health like the supply crates (and maybe even repair vehicles, like a REME mobile workshop). After all, it's no less realistic than having a magic fix-up box drop out of the sky. |
