For the level of professional polish we expect from FH2 (and the standards the devs clearly have themselves), I think a full Normandy release (2.2) would indeed take a year - perhaps July 2009. Let's not forget that even once 2.0 was all but 'finished' there was apparently a period of at least a month, probably more, of balancing, map testing and frantic re-coding (shit happens, first rule of modding).

Either way, 2.15 will indeed tide me over until then - SMLE and Italians to kill with it, yum

the 'meat grinder' maps sounds quite interesting :P Indeed about the FH dev's polish, perhaps they could make the release shorter by releasing half their maps in a first release, then the other half in a patch later, but who knows D: I'm sure they want the whole shebang right away ;P
