Most sources I found said it was first used in Africa in May 1942. (Although until Tunisia they were only available in small numbers.)

"Bereits 1937 hatte das Waffenamt ein neues MG aus Blechprägeteilen gefordert, da es die Schwächen des MG 34 erkannt hatte. An der Ausschreibung waren die Firmen Rheinmetall, Stübgen und Großfuß beteiligt. Die ersten beiden Firmen legten einen Gasdrucklader vor, der jedoch in seiner Funktion zu empfindlich war und abgelehnt wurde. Die Firma Großfuß dagegen legte eine einfache Blechprägekonstruktion vor, die einen neuartigen Rollenverschluß besaß. Die im April 1938 vorgestellte Waffe kam im Februar 1939 in den Truppenversuch. Die Musterwaffen dieser MG trugen noch die Bezeichnung MG 34/41, ab 1941 wurde diese Waffe als MG 42 bei der Truppe eingeführt. Bis Ende 1941 wurden 1.500 Waffen unter Gefechtsbedingungen getestet, Anfang 1942 erklärte man die Waffe zur Standardwaffe und übernahm sie in die strukturmäßige Ausrüstung. Der erste Einsatz erfolgte im Mai 1942 in Afrika."

Never seen a pic of it in use before Tunisia. Donno if any usage at El Al would be enough to justify it being in such a map though. Would be like using the Stug in Afrika.

It doesn't have to be a class in the spawn selection menu. A pickup kit (or 2 in case of late 1942) will do too.

Yes... this is what I want to hear! Throw it in there anyway, as long as we get to try this puppy out in 2.15, or as soon as possible. Of course, this is the dream crusher we're talking about.
