Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Excellent! Late war Stug, Cromwell look sweet! And the promise of THREE (3) new maps plus Sr. Lobo's work -yes!! I saw a castle on the second desert picture me thinks... You devs are doing this great. If you add three maps to what we already have that makes quite a number of material to keep us occupied with until the next threatre. Thank you very much for that as well as the great new stuff. |

There were italian flags on minimaps even before 2.0 Spoiler: |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 But when you look about the map description it say: Germany against Great Britain, not Italy against Great Britain like Siege of Giarabub description |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Oh... The flag looked really blurry.. And what about the white trees? |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Im at a loss for words, this update is truly something else...for...you have given me, the most wonderful gift of all. Another Screen capture of my favorite tank of World War Two...The Sturmgeschutz! Don't know why I love it so much, its just...so sexy . |

Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Lobo you forgot again to post a picture of the map itself. Or was it intentional? Whatever, I'm looking forward to the Stug with added coaxial MG. I guess it will be as limited as the MGs in the Grant?:p Hehe. And the Oasis looks good, I'm just reading googles most wanted: Interlude at Giarabub :naughty: |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 StUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUg! :smokin: |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 nice update! but WHEERREEEE is that TIGER! if you guys dont show it soon, hslan has to reconsider its unshattering support of FH! ;) |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 It all looks so sweet, as usual. Had a moment of concern when I read the Cromwell was ported from 0.7, but those fears were put to rest when I saw the very nice looking Cromwell pictures. Just my two cents on one thing: Quote:
In the game, as in real life, the artillery comes in on a lower trajectory, making it difficult for the shells to actually reach the ground. However, unlike real life, the buildings in the game do not crumble. This vastly reduces the damage they cause in the game. Mortars, on the other hand fall straight down and are very effective at shelling towns. Just my thoughts. |

Btw, look what I found http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com...iarabub_04.jpg Are those dead horses by the road there? |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 no dead dromedars I think. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 YESS!!! The dead camels of FH1 glory. Many a gory death you will save me from my rotting corpse friends... and maybe a freezing night as well. Love the update. Is this a version of the stug we havent seen before because the coaxial mg and the remote one on top are new to me :uhm:. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Yes this is the late version, the one in FH 0.7 is the early version. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Finally some real urban my (I hope - Lightning don't you dare say a thing!). And about the map the sweet Cromwll was on - it's Caen as I remember, same map where Panther and Normandy were presented. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 The map is operation charnwood. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 those two maps are looking really good. especially the static placement. gj guys keep it up! |

Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Nice update as usual guys, keep up the good work and, most importantly, keep on working hard!!!!!!!:bows: Now, in this picture of the new map, Seige of Giarabub, the flag at this control point is German, and since in the description and minimap the italians are mentioned as the only troops, shouldnt the flag be italian... Will this be changed by the time the patch is out...:uhm: http://forgottenhope.bf1942files.com...iarabub_05.gif |

Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Jahbol!!!!! mein herr, no flieger but who cares!!!!!! I can imagine, playing as Italian, Atacar la posicione enemiga!!!!!!! well, cant wait for use the Stug, late versions kick ass.! |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 will those armor plates on the sides of the StuG protect it enough? |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Is anyone else loving the fact that the type Stug they used has the remotely controlled MG34, instead of the hand operated one? :D @pheeph: They should stop all AT rifle and At rocket hits. The FH devs showed that in FH.7, so hopefully they can do that on the BF2 engine as well. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Remote control MG?! I didn't know those were in tanks in WWII. Wow, you learn something every day. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 http://www.pzfahrer.net/hetzermgs.html Same type as used on that Stug.:D Only prob with the model that I see is that it shouldn't have the butt stock on it, but donno if they can fix that now. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 hehe, i remember seeing a pic of a captured Stug with remote controlled MG except that in place of the MG34/MG42 was a StG 44! I'll see if i can fish it out. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 This looks so damn good! Marvellous work guys. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Excellent work. nice update! |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Awesome update! I'm liking this policy of taking shitloads of screenshots for one update. Let's hope it becomes a trend... *hides from Lightning* One thing I must say is that the trees in Normandy look STUNNING! Wow they look good. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 I see dead camels! (it's an outrage sah) |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 I love these frequent updates. Nice map too. Thanks Lobo for sharing your source photos. It's amazing what fidelity you guys manage to achieve - and thanks for choosing a lesser known (but still interesting) battle for a change. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Quote:
As much as i love the StuG.IIIG shown in the update, the coaxial MG wasn't introduced until September '44 so it's not really appropriate for Normandy. Hopefuly the devs have a mid production StuG.IIIG (with original mantlet, MG shield and schurzen) or late-mid version ('saukopf' mantlet, MG shield and schurzen) in the works. Maybe even a mid version on a Pz.Kpfw.III Ausf.M hull? THE PANZERS AND THE BATTLE OF NORMANDY JUNE 5TH - JULY 20TH, 1944 (2) (scroll down to 'The 301st remote controlled panzer battalion') |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Yes, this is true. I'd think that they will have the type with the original mantlet and gun shield, as there is no other real difference between that and the late model. |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Yes! A StuG! *dusts off the StuG operating instructions* 1.) Hide in large bush 2.) Wait for Sherman-jockey to trundle past 3.) Slam some German steel into that General Motors engine, Sherman jockey doesn't know what hit him  |

Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 awesome update, cant wait till 2.15 and the normandy theater of war!!:D only when are there coming new planes?,some new fighters, and maybe light to mid bombers! |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 man this stug is going to rock remote controlled MG + coaxial MG schürzen to protect flanks vs bazookas and never their will be any gunner or mg-gunner visible on the outside i just loved the camouflaged stug in fh1 maybe we will get a similar version later ? and the cromwell beside the firefly this is obviously the best british anti tank tank ingame so far typical British setup, very fast, very slim, very weak armored and a good gun. As long as they will get HE ammo i would pick them over a sherman every time |
Re: Forgotten Hope News Update: 11th June 2008 Yes, the quality is great. Lobo made an awesome map there, thats going to be some tough close quarters combat in the fortress :) And Mr.Cheese his Operation Charnwood is also going to be great. Just look at the road with all the bushes, what a details! It's just great to see this stuff. (and hurray for StuG!) |
