Lately I learnt a "loose the bogey off my tail" and "make'em burn" combo but the "fatal death of flying foes" is just finger-breaking.

I'm still amused at how many people dont know how to use tank sights D: Or shut the JU door, or open the Hanomag slits, or put down the windows in jeeps, or open the back of Trucks :P

I honestly only learned about the truck backs and hanomag slits recently though. :uhm:

Can you shoot through the hanomag slits, I've tried and never had any success. (Probably really the wrong thread to ask this in).

I've shot the driver out of a Hanomag with a Tommy Gun from the front. To tell the truth, I was was spraying all over the damn thing, hoping he'd jump out and get turned into hamburger, but he died while still inside. Whether it works or not, I still "button up" whenever I go somewhere where I expect infantry.

Also, what does "WEP" stand for? And is Mudra just bullshitting us with his "press x to go faster" thing? Isn't x the default key for gun sights in planes? Or is it the default for "Afterburner" in BF2 and "Air Brake/Stuka Siren" in FH2? I don't know because I change all my key assignments (Plus, I use a Flightstick for flying).

I'm all confused...

War Emergency Power, basically wringing as much power out of the engine as possible. Of course, doing so wasn't encouraged (hence 'Emergency') since it drastically reduced the service life of engines and made them more prone to failure.

It was common to put wire across the throttle at the point where it would go from normal power to absolute maximum. The pilot would have to push the throttle 'through the wire', as the saying goes. The broken wire would indicate to ground crews afterwards that the engine had been pushed to its limits and needed a much more thorough check for any problems.
