Okay, I just figured out how to use joy2mouse so that you dont have to hold the shift key to use the view hat. Here is the simple way to go about it: Download joy2mouse here: grapevine.dns2go.com - /download/Logitech/Joy2Mouse/ 1)On the opening screen, pick the 'Actions' tab. 2)Set Theme: Mouse movement 3)Under Action: type 'view up' 4)Under Action type choose 'combination' 5)An available actions window opens. Add the following from the upper window to lower window: 6)'Shift' (or whatever key you have mapped to 'mouselook') 7)'move mouse down' 8)Remove any other actions that may have been in the lower box 9)hit 'Save' and 'Apply' Repeat steps 3-9 to make view down, view left, and view right Go to 'Profiles' tab. 1)Under button combination choose 'POV up' and 'no shift button' 2)Set Theme to 'mouse movement' 3)Set Action to 'view up' repeat 1-3 for POV down, POV left, and POV right Make sure all other button combination settings under the profile tab have the 'Action' window set to 'empty'. The joystick axes and buttons 1-12 (if I remember right) are by default set to actions that can contradict your current settings otherwise. Somebody should add this to the wiki. I tried but I have no priviliges. Last edited by Nephros; January 19th, 2008 at 03:27 PM..

before you do that you have to click in the action box and type in a new name such as 'view up', then it will ungrey. Also, this may only work for joy2mouse3, not for the earlier build.

If you have a saitek, they have software that lets you map key/mouse functions to the stick. The most important thing is an option to use the HAT as a mouse for a profile you can set for BF2. I use this and I just mapped a button in the stick to be mouse look so I can press that, look around and still use the HAT directions to do other things like bring up commo rose and 6 o'clock view. This also solves the problem of not being able to look in diagonal directions (only up/down and left/right are possible otherwise if you map Hat UP as lctrl+mouse up ect.) Plus, as long as you hold the look kwy down, you view will stay where leave it and not snap back to center. It's very important to UNMAP your mouse from your plane controls as you will fly in proportion to your head movements if you do not. Saitek:Drivers & Software
