M3 Grant is badass!
 

I used to only jump in German armour in FH42, but with FH2 it seems as though it is very difficult to get kills with them. I switched to the British M3 Grant and I can get one shot kills from rather far distances. Even with the Panzer4 with AP rounds it takes at least 2 hits to kill another tank.
I know someone will say that you have to use better tactics with German armour, but thats hard to do on desert maps where you cant really hide.
Not sure, but with the Panzer4 having such a short barrel, maybe you have to be closer than you do with the Grant.

M3 Grant is one of the most defensible tanks out there IMO. The big 75mm can focus on killing the tanks at long range, while the 37mm shoots at infantry and cars in any direction.

For the Panzer IV, I hope you've noticed that there are two different types? The F1 has a short barrel, the F2 has a long one.

Remember also, most German tanks have an AP shell, a Panzergranate or HEAT shell, then a HE shell. Panzergranates and HEATs take out the Grant in one shot to the front as far as I can tell...But whatever, it's only me.

Never mind that, the point is that FH2 ROCKS! :smokin:

Yeah, that 75mm is badass in the western desert. The Brits loved the grant tank when they got it, because it gave them a huge increase in range over the 2pdr. Once the Germans start getting their heavier tanks in 43 though, its gonna be business as usual for the 75mm.

Yeah Grant definately delivers what it offers. Bloody badass power against the jerry tanks but there is a downside - the height of the vehicle. Like IRL, the brits loved the Grant but they did think that the height of the tank was just plain bollocks, as it was/is. Its so tall that it can be seen easily if its behind a dune and the top turret will not help a lot when a german panzer catches his eye on the "hiding" grant. Panzergranates ftw!

The Grant is awesome, with a person on the turret you can really dish out supreme damage against Panzer III's and occasionally IV's.

Grant is my favourite Brit tank atm closely followed by that car that is like counterpart of 222 =p .

The Grant was superior to the Panzer IV Ausf F1 in firepower because its M3 75mm gun had a higher muzzle velocity to that of the short-barreled 75mm KwK 37 L/24, and also fired a heavier shell.

Even the Panzer IIIJ 'Special' with the long-barreled 50mm KwK 39 L/60 gun was outclassed by the Grant and had to use scarce Pzgr 40 ammunition to reliably penetrate the Grant at 1,000 metres or more.

The Germans were forced to bring in the Panzer IV Ausf F2 with the 75mm KwK 40 L/43 gun to redress the balance (despite those tanks being badly needed on the Eastern Front.)

We had the same comments in WWII online when they introduced the Grant for the Allies. The thing wasn't invulnerable, but it had the best gun and the best optics as well. They could reach out and touch our Panzers at ungodly range...

I was on a server rather filled with noobs, of course only taking shermans and panzer 4's. Well, thing is, I flanked a tank column of 4 tanks heading south on el alamein, and from a far distance. I killed them all. With a crusader III.

Yep, one must remember that the invincibility of the German panzer in 1939-1943 was propaganda more then anything. They were weak armoured, weak gunned. Their ability to win the battles came more from unit tactics and leadership skills then the raw ability to take out tanks. The Sherman and the Grant, as they are now, are like the Panther and the Stug.
