For those having speed problems here is a link to my old bittorrent thread... Prob the most relevant part as far as speed optimizations go is in the largest paragraph under the Azureus section.

Basically bittorrent will eat all of your upload bandwith and this can hurt your download speeds. The trick is to cap your upload speed just below your max upload bandwith. For a 512Kbit or 64KB connection I would cap it around 50-55KB. With my lowly 240Kb or 30KB upload bandwith I cap at 25KB. Experiment see what works best for you.

But to be quite honest.... what does it matter if your download is going a bit slow... even if you are only getting a lowly 15KB/sec it will take under 24 hours to get the entire file... leaving you plenty of time before the password release. Just try to get a good share ratio.

I thought most parts of Hampshire we cable enabled? Where abouts you live too? Only problems with Hampshire connection wise for me is the crappy HSPDA support in Lymington!!

Mine is 5Mbit on Orange, there is no cable here (7 miles south of Newbury), just ADSL, getting cable here would mean digging up the road (I think) and I'm not prepared to pay for it My only hope stands with the man who owns the pub 100 metres down the road - Marco Pierre White, he's always there, ugly bastard.

No, live about 15 minute drive from there. Lots of Chavs in Hungerford.

on gameupdates torrents i usually get 900KB-1mbyte/s

i downloaded a huge file from there the other day, went to eat dinner and when i came back the file was already seeding i was like "ooooooookaaaay thats niiiiiice"
