BEFORE YOU START ANYTHING, do you have:
-Forgotten Hope .7 fully installed and working?
-Forgotten Hope .7 Fanmappack6 (You do not need 1-5) fully installed and working?
Ok, now that we have that down, continue with the rest of the guide.
For the Complete FHSW experience:
-Go to SITUATION 1 if you DO NOT have any previous FHSW versions, or just don't want to go through all that patch business
-Go to SITUATION 2 if you already have .25 installed and do not want to download the very large Full Client Install of FHSW .261
SITUATION 1:
Spoiler:
SITUATION 1: You do NOT have any previous FHSW versions, or just don't want to go through all that patch business.
I have not tried this out yet, but I am pretty positive is all you do is, extract the file, take the 'FHSW' folder and move it into your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder. Allow it to overwrite.
MAKE SURE: Delete all previous FHSW versions from your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder!
SITUATION 2:
Spoiler:
SITUATION 2: You already have FHSW .25 Installed and do not want to download the very large FHSW .261 Full Client Install
Extract the file, take the 'FHSW' folder from the 'FHSW026Patch' folder and move it into your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder. Allow it to overwrite.
Extract the file, take the 'FHSW' folder from the 'FHSW0261ClientPatch' folder and move it into your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder. Allow it to overwrite.
After allowing the .261 patch to overwrite, do this:
-Right click the C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\FHSW\Archives\bf1942\levels folder, and select properties. You should see that it has 125 files inside.
-Now, delete the following files manually
Adak_Island_001.rfa
Battle_of_Bougainville_001.rfa
Battle_of_Off_Malay_001.rfa
Battle_Of_Valirisk-1943_001.rfa
Bombing_The_Reich-1945_001.rfa
FH_Air_001.rfa
FH_Land_001.rfa
fht_hong_kong-1941_001.rfa
In_The_Hell_Of_Bocage-1944_001.rfa
Invasion_Of_The_Philippines_001.rfa
Iwo_Jima_001.rfa
Iwo_Jima_day1_001.rfa
Kiew_001.rfa
Operation_A_001.rfa
Operation_Forager_001.rfa
Operation_Kikusui_day2_001.rfa
Operation_Lilliput_001.rfa
Raseiniai_001.rfa
Stalingrad_RedSquare_001.rfa
Stashuv_Area_001.rfa
Tulagi_Island_001.rfa
Tunis-1943_001.rfa
-After deleting these, go right click your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods\FHSW\Archives\bf1942\levels folder again, and select properties. You will now have 103 files.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW VERSION!!!!
OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FHSW Sound and Texture Pack:
Spoiler:
If you thought the FHSW sounds were great, there is also a Sound and Texture (mostly sounds) pack too. Take note though, the .261 version of this makes the Bren sound worse than usual (better than the .25 version though). Everything else? Gristly, realistic, scary, totally amazing, adds a whole new level to the FHSW experience, absolutely beautiful, a masterpiece. This .261 version is a FULL INSTALL, there is not a patch I believe.
After making sure you deleted the old 'STFHSW' folder, extract the new file you downloaded, move the 'FHSW' and 'STFHSW' folders located inside the 'S&T0.261' folder to your C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942\Mods folder. Allow it overwrite.
