The future of FH
 

What do you think will happen to FH 0.7 when FH2 comes out? How many people will play it?

Would you keep playing 0.7's North Africa maps?

I think we still are going too see people playing FH0.7. I know that i probably will. I think the numbers of players will decrease, especially just after the release of fh2.

I think people will jump on FH2 when it comes out but will eventually switch back and forth between it and 0.7 depending on their gameplay mood.

I probably won't be playing FH for anything more than the nostalgic value.
Even before the first release, FH2 looks like it will be the game the devs truly wanted to create, with no sharp corners or unfinished ends. I would consider FH2 to be the "real", completed FH.

I want to be wrong, but I believe FH2 is probably gonna kill FH1 :(. I'd like to keep playing it until FH2 has its 2nd-3rd release. Oh well, at least I'll be able to play the classic with the clan.

I consider FH2 as an update, version 1.0. Not as a separate game, as everyone should. It's like playing FH 0.5 versus 0.65 (0.7 sucks, even changed the music to much worse). I won't be coming back to 0.7 for sure.

I wouldn't be suprised if FH0.7 servers used fewer Africa maps and focus on stuff that FH2 dosen't have yet. Pacific, E. Europe etc. I would like to see that myself.

I for sure gonna play it, but its fate has been decided. Im not going to even speak about it. its going to be ugly. Oooohhhhhh... all those hours playing with bots.:cheers: But how long to the future is this poll going to look?

People will be all excited with FH2 coming out but won't give up 0.7 completely so more FH2 with a lot of hindsight.

Both will carry on imo. Lots of players still dont have systems fast enough for the BF2 engine. So they wont be playing much FH2 until they upgrade. Stands to reason they will carry on playing FH1 until that happens.

And as some have mentioned FH2 will only be one theatre at first, so lots will switch back and forth between games until more theatres are added to FH2.

edit: I personally find it hard to play FH1 now, after having a taste of FH2 :D

With all the new stuff happening for FH 0.7 (FHSW, ForgottenHonor public MOD, RBS map-packs etc) there will be people playing both for sure... FH2 is another game and FH for bf1942 is still the best online game you can play, if FH2 becomes the best, then FH 0.7 + add-ons will be the 2nd best... + until FH2 has released all theatres (2-3 years ahead?) there will be plenty of reason to play FH-bf1942.

As soon as I voted 'Players will keep playing 0.7' I thought don't be stupid, once the long awaited FH2 arrives everyone will be playing it and then will be on the devs back to make new maps.
I'm afraid 0.7 will only be played by the staunchest diehard who hates (or is slow to accept) change.

I'm looking forward to the better graphics and sound qualities of the BF2 engine given all the bugs and all, it will be a superior game to 0.7. :nodding:

I'm sticking with 0.7, maybe playing FH2 a bit.

Rather obvious what will happen:

Most will play FH2 but some may return or keep on playing FH1 for nostalgic reasons or being unable to run FH2. Or because they don't like the North Africa campaign.

FH2 will Die. The numbers all point to that, Most of the BF2 players want their kiddie medals, and kiddie rank. FH does not offer that. PR does well because it has a ranking system. Therefore 1st relase dead within 2 months.


Everybody returns to FH 0.7. The world goes back to normal.

Also 0.7 has soooo much more content at the moment. I see how many people love their big cat tanks. You know who you are. Come pet the kitty.


I sincerely hope my prediction is wrong. I hope FH2 takes off, just that mods have suffered so much under BF2, it really is sad.

only if i have time and if im not bored...

all the mods of my computer.. are famous on 1 or 2 months i think.. FH2 can be fun for 3 or 4 months if i make friends.... or if that is funny or if the players play on teamwork

Then let them stay in BF2. I can do without the rank kids running around beside me.

And I predict that FH2 and PR will be the most popular mods on the BF2 engine!
I prefer the WWII genre so will be playing FH2 alot more than PR.

The reason 0.7 has so much content is because its been out for a long time now, give FH2 time to grow and it won't die in 2 months because the mod is a WIP and its fans know that.

I just hope there is going to be enough people to fill the servers for FH2 and I hope there aren't just like 2 or 3 servers either. I mean how will we get people from outside this small community to get involved?

Bringing and hyping updates on battlefield 2 community sites. At least many people are eagerly waiting for FH2 in the finnish community.

I'm really not worried about the future for FH2, there has been more attention to detail than in any of the other mods and it is one of the most anticipated mods (here in sweden at least). BGF and XWW2 could only dream of the attention FH2 is getting.

Unless the devs make some catastrophic mistakes like EoD2 then I think FH2 will be the largest of all BF2 mods, the only possible exception is PR.

And I loathe negative one way thinking, if the stats padders dislike FH2 for realism and WW2 environment then it doesnt mean it can't attract other players. Just think of all the old bf1942 fans and I won't miss the jerk off stats padders one second.

FH1 will die when FH2 be the same or close to FH1. A lots of people will be drag by the new FH because it's new but the vast majority of players/ clans will stick to the original for it differents environment and game play style.

I would love to tell people I still play FH for BF1942 but I haven't for months. FH2 is so much better hehe.

I will never stop playing FH for bf1942! Maybe ill play some FH2 but my heart will always belong to FH1
