News and no comment yet? So stunned? :D

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Well, it's always great to see more statics, great job FH team!

And what do you guys mean when you say "Without communication there is no command, and without radio there is no communication, so without radios your troops you will be lost"? Is this hinting at some kinda feature using the radio?

BUGS]FHMod[ July 17th, 2006 11:06 AM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Possibly. But for now it is only a simple fact ;)

pheeph July 17th, 2006 11:07 AM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

wow... those radios in the screenshot look convincingly real.

Frenkan July 17th, 2006 11:08 AM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

The detail on those two radiosets is simply amazing. Splendid as always.

FatJoe July 17th, 2006 11:08 AM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Looks incredible.. the radios.. the look and the feel of the bunkers.. fantastic.

This is the actualy enviroment I could imagen soldiers and officeres to run about, doing their work.. The dull light of the lamps, lighting up the maps on the table.. It all adds up so much atmosphere..

.... Great Work guys!

I would not recommend over-interpreting statements like that--I am not saying they are meaningless either, mind you. But if we were explicitly describing a specific game function, it would clearer than that.

Well you have to admit, that particular statement is stated in such a way that it does look like it is hinting at something. And plus, the FH team has proven to be very cryptic in the past :p

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Very nice work, i'm looking more and more forward to FH2 with each and every update

[NL]-=Mars_Ultor July 17th, 2006 11:28 AM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

This update is just plain awesome. The new bunker statics and furniture just look so real and will give FH2 in 'the building compartment' so much more atmosphere. Superb work Lobo and Primo Itch. I especially dig those new gas lanterns; can't wait to see the 'creepy' shadows they create on the bunkerwalls as you walk by them. ;)

In the newsupdate either Bugs or StrangerThanFiction mentions:

''Right below the entrenchment, you will find another underground bunker. Although you might have trouble getting any sleep when the PAK is firing, at least you are out of danger.''

After reading this section of the newspost I thought maybe it is possible to add a nice ''dust effect'' to the underground section of the bunker when a static gun, like a Pak, is shooting above it. So it looks like the ground on top of the bunker is shaking/moving by the force of the gun fireing, and is 'washed'/poured inside the underground section through cracks in the bunkerwalls.

Yes, we have talked about this idea for our undergrounds, I think it can be done

Wow! Best update yet IMO! Love the artwork!

Wow! Those are all amazing! Those details add tons of atmosphere - I can't wait to explore them! It would be great if there was the "dust falling from roof" effect too...

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Great update. Everyone wants to see a weapon, vehicle or player model, but patiently I wait and enjoy updates like these. These statics look amazing and in one quick update just added oodles of atmosphere to the game. I can't say enough about statics, and they all add up for a great experience.

Nice job to Primo Itch btw. I thought you were a coder and didn't realize you're listed as a modeler as well. Does this mean you're doing skinning as well now? Anyhow, great job.

Nice update guys.

Can't wait for next weeks installment

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Good Lord. That is truly incredible detail. The radio alone is a work of art. I don't care if it takes another year to finish FH2. This is the kind of excellence and pride-in-creation which sets FH apart.

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

Well, Tobruk is in fact the name of the bunker... It doesn't necessarily means it was used in tobruk, capiche ?

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

i had no idea bf2 was capable of making statics that were so detailed and pretty. all the stuff in bf2 looks just plain and plastic. the radio in fh2 on the otherhand...my god. i dont know whether i want to sit down and use it, or to shoot it to see if it blows up

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

when statics are the most numerous things in any game, and you jenkl are going to be looking at statics 100000% more than anything else (play any game, and count how many statics you see and how long they are in your field of vision VS. weapons/vehicles) yea, there are gonna be alot of updates profiling them. i for one love how the team is making so many and avoiding making the game one that is one map with 2 cookie cutter objects spread everywhere. if that happened, it would really break the immersion. would you want BF2 graphic-level soldier/tanks fighting in bf42 graphic-level maps? didnt think so

A_tree July 17th, 2006 05:00 PM

Re: Newsupdate July 17th

would be nice to see some more ingame weapons. Plus all this stuff looks very much like a lot of other stuff. Would be nice to see a video of that fire, a screen shot of fire isnt realy very impresive.
