A good source for DAK pictures I guess the FH devs already know this, but as it's a german site I just post it in the unlikely case they don't. It's the main homepage of the DAK, Deutsches Afrika Korps... It contains quite alot pictures, including very rare ones and also alot of german defences, which might be helpfull... Enjoy: http://www.afrika-korps.de/galerie/main.php Like this one, a command trailer used for airports in the desert (FH2 :deal:) http://www.afrika-korps.de/galerie/m...serialNumber=2 or this one, General Fröhlichs Command trailer, or rather bus http://www.afrika-korps.de/galerie/m...serialNumber=2 Camouflaged german guns, around Derna (I wish FH2 defences will look like this) http://www.afrika-korps.de/galerie/m...serialNumber=2 |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures Fantastic! I came across a picture of a Flak-18 dug in so deep that the barrel at 0 degrees (parallel to ground) was no more than 18" clearance from the ground. An 88 that could present such a low profile must have been lethal indeed. Great site. I love the burning tank shots. |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures Hehe, of course we know this site Stauffenberg, it's the first hit you get when you search for "Afrika Korps" in google... :p |

Re: A good source for DAK pictures Thx, nice site. I never really search for stuff (shame on me, I know) but whenever someone posts a link I enjoy it a lot. Something for the mappers: look at the pictures of plain desert. It's not empty at all, most of the time there are small shrubs and patches of grass. Something else you can see is that the sand doesn't have the same color everywhere. |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures I'm sure we won't be seeing Sahara type desserts all over the place, the devs and fan mappers can use colour picuters of how the terrain looks these days. If you have seen some of the maps Anlushac was working on for FH1, those were realistic in appearance. :naughty: |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures Gah, I thought the "camouflaged guns" caption referred to the bus. I stared at that picture for a long time, trying to find the dam PAK. (Waldo is in the second window from the back.) |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures  I thought it was in the bus too... |

Re: A good source for DAK pictures Bah, that's not so insane like an atlantik wall bunker with a french cottage and an old woman painted in the wall as camouflage, unfortunately I can't find the pic |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures Also interesting is this german soldier, who camouflaged his helmet with mud... http://www.ww2incolor.com/gallery/al.../postcard7.jpg random helmet? :naughty: |

Re: A good source for DAK pictures I just noticed that, very odd. :P |
Re: A good source for DAK pictures Won't his right hand get very burnt? Is it on the eastern front? If it is, then the Spitfire is far from home. But it still looks dramatic. :) |
