No (in my opinion). It's a waste of time, it adds nothing useful to the mod, and it's an insult to those who had to earn their medals. Medals are awarded for valor, not for being the L33test!!11! tank33rzz!
they can't be implemented in this type of game in realistic way and they can't serve as reward for frags. Best example is Purple Heart, all players would have it. In bf2 they set enormous requirements to ern it and they weren't realistic, tough I was awarded by it by some game mistake or something while just fireing at another player during second week of playing.
the medals in bf2 are rediculous.
its like 10 kills in an aa gun for a bronze, 100 minutes + 50 kills in one sitting for silver. etc. its stupid.
plus I can't see medals implemented for fh2 other than purple heart, gold, silver, bronze. I guess kit medals too.
Awarding medals in FH2 would be an impossibility. Each nationality has its own honours and awards system therefore the devs would have to include German, Italian, Japanese, Rumanian, Soviet, Finnish, British (subset Canadian, Australian, New Zealander, Indian) and US almost ad infinitum. Some countries don't award medals for being wounded or badges for infantry, tank, air and naval assault. The only way the devs could do it is to create their own system which doesn't resemble any of the nations involved.
A new recruit speaks to his local politician,
"I'm joining your company"
"And what company is that" "B Company",
"B here when we leave and B here when we get back."
i think the devs have more important things to concentrate and worlk on for fh2 than a medal and stats system - my stats are a win/loose of a map and the fun i have playing it
Im hoping the medal/rank sillyness will stay out of FH2, the day i see a "OMFG, h0w do u get teh ppsh whore ribbon!?!!!!!!!!11shift1 " thread on this forum i will hurt some-one.

I was stupid enough, despite several warnings, to get my self banned. First I was generally rude in a thread, which got me temp banned. Then I came back with another account just so I could post in vengeance against one of the moderators . And that upgraded my temp-ban to a permanent ban.
"Teh PPSH ribbon"=owning 6 people iin 6 secs and being killed by a kar98 and crying and saying he hacks and F4+Ctrl cheat thing....
LOL,That was good.
I hate ranks they make me really testy. The only points I would like are like helping points. People should maybe get a few points but maybe toawrds something better?
I like the medals if they can be designed to give some meaning to reflect merit. Realizing that it's hard for a stats system to reflect a person's contribution to a particular battle, I would almost never expect medals to pretend to measure that.
I think awards can be made to reflect something positive about game play, but I don't think awards (or ranks) should impact kit availability or even the commander assignment. In other words, awards should only be available to add some atmosphere to the game, but not to affect any game that a particular play would join.
As for medals reflecting each nation's correct awards, that's just too much work for the devs, IMO. If medals are to be awarded, just keep them as one nation's image of a medal or create mythical medals to symbolize the award.
