Well no, if I'm the guy with the bazooka. :naughty:

Seriously, the treads are still the weak spot, and the skirts don't completety cover them but the bazooka guy has to be quite close to hit the treads.

It's a lot more difficult to knock out a tank with an AT weapon or AT rifle round in 0.7. Sandbags, spaced armour and sideskirts arent totally effective, but if you're an M4A1 Sherman driver in Falaise or Bocage you feel a lot safer knowing that it's more difficult for the enemy to flank you and take you out.

The Italian tanks are funny things. I'd say that the M13/40 is comparable to an British Crusader I and the L6/40 is comparable to an British M3 Honey, but only just.

The guns are somewhat weaker, but not Ha-Go type weak. They arent useless, because they still have a fair bit or armour and speed. These are their selling points. Then again, if you're cruising around in a Semovente you dont have too much to worry about. Both are great tanks.

I sometimes pick the M13/40 over the Panzer IIIJ. Not because I'm an Italian tank nut (though I cannot deny the fact that I am, I love them) but because I find it to be a much more balanced tank overall. It's speed also helps greatly on maps like Tobruk where you have to hit hard and move fast.

Yes, the skirts will only protect the part they are placed (obviously), but at long distance they are a great help. I was betatesting Foy, and using a Panther, I was hearing the hits of the bazookas in my sides, was a great moment, a warm feeling of safety, hehe

I think this feature will be awesome as well because sometimes it's just totally frustrating to get owned by AT personel in a brand spanking new tank and to add insult to injury the whole business of the tanks blowing up violently and hopping just pisses the tanker off even more. It probably wouldn't be so bad if it was a 1 shot -> disabled & flaming concept rather than 1 shot -> explosion.

Anyhow, I can't expect miracles and so I welcome this with wide open arms, you guys get great credit for coding this in and I'm sure it makes the game that much more of a blast to play.
