There was really only 2 major mods that ported over to BF:V (EoD, BG), the rest knew it was a dead end road and it would bear more fruit to port to the new BF2 engine. EoD in my mind died at that point, they had a good thing going on the old BF1942 engine up until that point, and BG42 I didn't really play.
I think before that thread came about the FH devs already knew the answer to that question, the thread more or less gave the community something to do/discuss.
The updated Refractor engine didn't really offer that much more in the form of the BF:V release and was a bit more resource hungry and imo chugged like a mofo indoors for whatever reason. I'm so glad FH didn't go down that road and waited it out, I wish I could have said the same for EoD but it being a vietnam mod I can slightly understand the draw to port being there but it was a bad decision in the long run imo.
I haven't played BF:V in god knows how long I can't even remember.
Geeze, I haven't played BF2 either since....*checks* July 16, 2005, 2:44 am |
