Default bf2 maps, a lesson to fh2

http://forum.eagames.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1672

i think this thread does not represent all of bf 2 players but it give us a lesson:

what maps do you prefer? due i cannot run fh properly and im waiting a pc in 2 months i cant judge last fh mods but what maps would you prefer for fh2?

my preferences: the tipical russian steppe, all plains with villages, then some urban combats, maybe a lonelly medium city in the middle on a stepe and both teams should fight into the city, with some medim tanks and lot of apc, only a thought

i hate those fh2 maps in the middle of the mountains, for my taste its imposible to make a serious fight if i must climb a mountain, cross a river and jump using my parachute to avoid the road and get the flag before
favourite maps: strike at (dont remember name) and penninsula of sharqi, both urban figjts, strike at rocks when all americans reach the first buildings and bullets zippp near ur head, ur friends die and you cant locate the enemy

Just stick with the mix already had, remember, FH is based off of all real battles, other then Alpenfestung, whereas BF2 is based of somekind of fictional future war (I say future, as the Mid East has T90s....)

alpenfestung for me its perfect because the roads are in plains except the village near axis base all is plain, the mountains are at both sides of the road and the main fight is in the road, tanks HAVENT to climb mountains, but you can go up top the mountain to have a better view

im refering those maps fushe pass, shrgun stalemate, fu she....

real battles.. good ol' song - what does it mean 'real battle'? shrinking terrain sometimes 20km wide and 40km long into even largest fh2 map results in something less realistic than pocemons
so i'd drop this argument and stick with historical accuracy [ie. battles founght in desert should be set in desert, but not any particular desert with aerialreconaisance photos used to place huts and vilages, but simply huts that look like a village]
i like bf2 maps because they do not pretend to be something they could not be - they are fun and not limited in 'this two huts represent 20000 city, that ones tho, are kair, and that hill with 34huts let be alexandria'. all that attempts made me laugh in the past

i love how the city combat was modeled - all houses and vechicles are in scale to soldiers - no more goliath sized huts and smurf sized tents.. and city looks like a city at least

my wish - make maps so playable as 'stalemate 16p' played with 40 people, then i'll be happy

Freaking CS monkies with their urban maps at the EA forums. I like big open maps the most, that's what BF is all about imo although the infantry combat has definately improved I still prefer large battlefields.

Urban combat is now some of the most fun to be had. Although I like big open maps occasionally, they don't supply that sense of urgency and panic that's in a close-quarters area.

The BF2 city maps are insane, chaos, but still enjoyable. You got infantry running all over, enemy's sprinting across streets (they might be flanking you, but you cant get your eyes of the main approuch!), IFV's rushing down streets, medics trying to keep everyone fighting..

da big munky has talked

urban fights now are insane but fun, i would say i prefer this to CSS
i like big open maps like gulf of oman, but i dont like fushe pass or those imposible maps

i hope maps in FH2 will feat all, urban (stalingrad or berlin) open plains (any fight in russian stepes) mix (berlin outskirts maybe?) forest fights (poland maybe) sea (any mediterranean ot atlantic battle) aerial battles (britain)
desert (you know how to make desert fights) some beach like you know, some french fields as you know, etc
but never mountains+rivers+sneaky roads, if so, hitler would have attacked swiztzerland

The mountain maps in BF2 wouldn't be so bad if your damn vehicle could at least get up them (and by mountain I mean the 20 foot hill blocking my Abrams).
