One thing of note: Drive with your gun fully depressed (until engaging) and your "ducked" in the turret.
Another thing to do: Park the M36 "Hull up" on a slope, facing the area of engagement, and the hull/turret will provide cover to the front for the Driver.
It won't stop someone getting behind you and shooting you: but it will prevent some sniped-deaths.
The M36 gun does depress quite far.
It's definetly about field-position with the M36: If you can get the right spot, you can deal alot of death. -I love it in "The Bulge": KT-Killer.

Yes, i always use the M36 as a very quiet and patient tank-killer. It's like a sniper with armour and tracks. Choose a good position, and wait for enemy tanks - with any luck, they won't even know where the shot came from before it hit them.
