Hey, um...

First of all, i guess I cant complain about the lack of eastern fron stuff, with the new update. That Lenin Statue looks real nice, I've been around some real ones, and I think this one looks very good.

Now, the main part of the post, Does anyone know what the Main Menu music is for FH and if so where can I find it? Because i just love that theme but i have no idea what it is.

Let me make this simple and direct. If you cannot answer the question then do not reply

You should search. It's sturmgeist, from medal of honor.

Re: Hey, um...

the loading sound of FH is also from medal of honor right ?

Re: Hey, um...

It's from Medal of Honor: Frontline, the console title. It is the background music for the level Sturmgeist, the train level, and as far as I know there is no soundtrack for that game. Though I could be wrong.

Re: Hey, um...

BTW, you'll probably need a sound editor to make the actual song mono instead of stereo as it has a weird issue with stereo

No that would be the loading music. We're talking about the menu song.

Re: Hey, um...

Sturmgeist is not from Frontline, it was from MOHAA. And if it was from that game, it was most certainly from Medal of Honor or MoH:Underground (the good ol' PSX titles, first MoH titles ever).

Re: Hey, um...

It's not called "Sturmgeist". It is a part of "Rolling Thunder". Part 3 of "Rolling Thunder" to be exact - "Sturmgeist's Armored Train". It was composed specifically for Medal of Honor Frontline (the console game) and is available as part of the Frontline music soundtrack at EA store. As you all know, Medal of Honor Allied Assault does not have its own soundtrack - it has music mixed in from the original trilogy (including music from Frontline) plus a few new tracks, such as the Allied Assault theme. "Sturmgeist's Armored Train" made an appearance in the Battle of the Bulge level in Medal of Honor Allied Assault: Spearhead, an expansion pack. (It was called "Sturmgeist" in the Spearhead files, but that's not the full name.)

If you want the main menu song so bad, just download Rad Video Tools, go into the Music folder of your FH directory, open up the file called "Slaughter4", and convert it from BIK to WAV format. (You can either leave it as WAV, or use another program such as GoldWave to convert it to MP3.)

Re: Hey, um...

How cant it have music from Frontine when Allied Assault came out before hand?

Allied Assault does have it's own soundtrack. I have the disc. More importantly, Frontline does have it's own songs but most like Allied Assault come from the original Playstation titles.

schoolkid February 20th, 2005 09:54 AM

Re: Hey, um...

Medal of Honor Allied Assault had only, what, five original tracks? North Africa, Sniper Town, Allied Assault Theme, something like that. The rest of the music is from the original Medal of Honor. The two expansion packs for Allied Assault, Spearhead and Breakthrough, used music from all three of the original games - Medal of Honor, Underground, and Frontline.

As for Frontline, it has an hour's worth of original music composed for it. However, perhaps it reused some of the original Medal of Honor and Underground music, I'm not sure.

(You say you have the soundtrack for Allied Assault? Can I talk to you about that?)

Re: Hey, um...

I remember the very first one from the very first Medal of Honor. The level were you had to walk through a French countryside, taking out MG nests and 88mm's, then you get to the small village and it's just a big gay sniper fest.

And then after fighting the Gestapo you're suddenly wizzed off to fighting the Germans in Africa, somehow.

I swear all the original Medal of Honor's were played backwards.

http://battlefieldvietnam.eugamer.com/?page=soundtracks

This site tells you how to rip music from Refraction engine based game (this example is BFV). The process also works for BF1942, including FH. I

Default directory of FH music -

c:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 1942\Mods\FH\Music

Menu.bik = "MOHAA : Frontline - Sturmgeist's train"

Use RAD tools to convert the relevant song (menu.bik) from the music folder of FH. The song is from Sturmgeist's train on MOHAA : Frontline. The loading music is "Elk hunting" from Last of the Mohicans.
