The Battle of Foy

today i was searhcing for a good server... and i found one with 60 people in it. I went in and before he was done with loading, the server changed map and it was "battle of foy".

I went on the Allied side and as we were getting started we were getting RAPED!!! no one made it to the fence. And why? well because only 3 people were running at the time and the rest was laying on the ground shooting on nothing. Then everybody began to shout that we all need to run together so we all teamed up :D and waited.

We made a plan that 1 jeep would go to the right side and the rest would go run down te hill on the left side so as everybody ran down the hill (everybody got killed :P) the jeep made it at the back of the village. Then we took the flag en flank the germans on bode sides and we won :D

It was a great battle:bows:

What i want to say with this is that the allies can win on this map!
even with al those MG's and artilery

Thank god that it's (hopefully) getting redone.

Re: The Battle of Foy

Why does it need to be redone?

It's perfectly fine even if it doesn't "fit the Band of Brothers" map and nobody ever said it will get redone eitherway.

Foy is one of the best maps in FH! Don't change it! :bawl:

Re: The Battle of Foy

i've seen it won many a times with allied, just zoom down the hill in jeep, take barn flag zoom around take church flag, by this time allied infantry will be there, before Germany knows it they've lost all flags and now only have 1 guy who is currently AFK and is stopping the round from ending

Re: The Battle of Foy

It's too small to be any form of a "battle". There's no where for the battle to continue to once the village is taken, and the village is too tightly packed as it is with (nonsensicly placed) city buildings.

Amen, faction. I liked the map at first, but that was when people really would charge down the hill and it was a solid street fight there on out. Now, though, people just zip around the back in the jeep. Realistically, though, that's their only option because the Allied approach on foot has zero cover whatsoever. It's just a poorly done map.

and not runing alone like a fool right into the enemy....
thats 1 big problem...you get 1 man operations!...we are not in a vietnam movie!
runing with to m60 shooting at everything you see! aka rambo styl!

So it doesn't need to be redone. Just remove jeep and add more "covers" for the allies ..

Re: The Battle of Foy

No, the town's too packed together too. The layout of the flags makes no sense. WHY are we capturing these points? What's so special about them? There's no particular reason for capturing some of them. Many map designers don't bother to think about the tactical significance of the spots they want you to capture. They just plunk down a flag and say "fight here." Even DICE did that with some of its maps (though DICE did make some pretty lousy maps).

There's already another thread about suggestions for Battle of Foy, so go there.

Re: The Battle of Foy

I don't think the map needs a new layout, just needs a make-over, to bring it up to par with the rest of the FH masterpieces.
