As for the 2 extra weeks of tweaking... I guess I'll get some good nap time out of it. Out of all the updates I've seen for .66 none really apply to me.
Hehe, you might be missing something there.... Not everything is shown in the news, because some stuff only is about details, and some stuff won't be in the news till release.

heh, sounds tantalizing. New maps, friggin flame throwers! How much more can you guys pack into a "small" patch lol!
Hopefully those mortars will be placed in batteries to be more effective? And with those new explosion effects, man, I just might need to put on my helmet before I even play!
EDIT:: MY SOUND IS FIIIIIXED!!! I can play FH again!!

CTZ, thats a pretty neat looking map you have there. I hope you have gotten some good critique on improving your map because im sure there are people on here who would like to try it out.
Perhaps the mappers who didn't make the second round can improve their maps and then release them together in a second fan map pack. FH backed or not, I think it would still make a good download.
Our mortars are now simmilar to BF1918's mortars. The camera view is above the player, and gives a great field of view (you can also hide behind rocks or treches and still fire). They have a maximum range of the view distance of most maps (on iwo jima, i can shoot from the top of the mountain, to the next flag) and a minimum range of about 20 feet in front of the mortar. They have artillery spot for secondary fire like all other artillery, but it's not as useful because they arnt as long ranged, and you can usually see your targets. Depending on the range, the shells take anywhere from 2 to 5 seconds to hit, so hitting moving infantry takes a couple shells to lead the target.
Japs have the advantage on iwo because they control the island. Dont tell me 3 mortars and a defgun fireing down from a mountain isnt an advantage.
Niiiiice. How about knee mortars? Better now? No longer less splash damage then a 5.56mm?

If you used a valid emailadress to submit your map, you will have an email by Armin Ace explaining the details. Just check your mailbox.
I did get the email but then the Dec 19th update on the FH homepage gives just as much information, that's sort of why I was asking. Also I already e-mailed ArminAce to and asked specifically about those issues.
Whoa! Nice update... but the comment on the Panzer III is upsetting. It made me think of two options:
1) The FH team are sick to death of it and will never add one to spite us
2) They are already making it but it will be the greatest model of all time and therefore take forever to make
2, please!
PIAT looks great, the more prominent ironsights hint at the new AT aiming system...
