German BMW R75 Military Motorcycle w/Sidecar

The BMW R 75 was classified by the German army as a "heavy" motorcycle since it had an engine displacement of over 500cc. Along with the Zundapp KS750, it was used heavily in North Africa since it was able to handle the adverse terrain.

It also saw extensive and succesfull use as scouting, surveillance and communications vehicle on all other fronts, from muddy Russian fields to the tight and curly roads of France.

The BMW R 75 featured a horizontally opposed two cylinder engine with 746cc displacement and a max speed of 92 kmh. It was often fitted with a sidecar which mounted a MG34 machine gun. After about 1943, motorcycles in the German army were replaced by 4-wheel vehicles.

The BMW R 75 is as missed in the current FH 0.65 gaming / tactical environment as much as the Panzer III based tanks! It contributed greatly to the small scale blitzkrieg style warfare from 1941 to 1943, and was very popular among the troops for it's versatility and performance. In FH it will fit in many maps without debalancing the gameplay, yet add more tactical possibilities and realism.

It is hence my hope that the FH team will put this great machine on their to-do list for releases scheduled in the near future - without a doubt the addition of the BMW R75 motorcycle will appeal to potential/new users for its charisma (Everyone associates these bikes with WW2 - they appear in every movie!), and to veterans for it's tactical advantages and realism.

Hm that is sexy. Am I supposed to know this, or did me peeking at the "vehicles" link on the front page and checking some forums leave something to be desired ? :)

I'm also supporting the idea of adding this MC. It would be a great veichle to storm the weakest line of the enemy. I'm can just imagine how cool it must be too storm thru the desert on El Alamein...

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade style races would be cool on maps like Goodwood and Blacknight :D

I love this model, I think a dev somewhere along the line said that all or most unskinned models that werent able to make it into 0.65 are in 0.66 bar one new model (I think it's a Panzer III ;) ) so maybe this will be in?

But as always, nice model :)
