The storm changed date?

Seems so to me. Afaik it was either 1942 or 43 in 0.61, but now it's suddenly 1944. I always thought it was some Stalingrad related map, now it must be. . Poland? Judging by the equipment though you could never guess it was 1944. The abundant SVT40's, G43's, STG44's of summer 1944 Polish Zielona Gora is nowhere to be seen (except one STG44 pickup or so). Likewise the T34/85 seems to out of stock. The germans must have sent all their late war vehicles to the Bulge... Is this a mistake or what
Even Valirisk 1943 only features 1942 equipment, obsolete Panzer II, no Panthers, no PanzerIVH, obsolete KV2, obsolete Stug3b...

It was 1944 in FH 0.6 and 0.61, my guess is that it is the Soviet offensive against AGN on January 14th which led to the end of the seige of Leningrad.

ok, my mistake. Still shouldn't there be more late war equipment to play with? Like a JS-2, KT, Panther, Jagdpanzer or T-34/85's atleast..

Aside from Western europe, FH seems to have taken an early war fetish, don't think I've seen an IS2 or T-34-85 anywhere (bar the Pz747 on Valirisk, yet the Soviets don't get an 85).

I thought the storm was late 1944 when the Russians were pushing through Poland and into Germany????

No they they have a late war fetish, just on the western front, where you can have a Cromwell, sherman and a KT in every map

Pretty odd....I would love to see more work being put into the Eastern side... The Eastern front is often seen as boring to many people, this is what the FH team must correct. DICE made it inferior, but I believe that Maps such as Operation Bagration (in 0.5) would be liked, given that the vehicles were skinned and the map would get a few finishing touches.

I'm pretty sure the devs themselves don't know exactly which battle the map represents, but it's obvious that the Soviets are on the attack and gaining ground. It would make sense if this map represented a part of the major southern offensive launched in the Ukraine in late January of 1944. This same offensive would go on to ease the pressure on Leningrad and see a Soviet advance into Poland by early February.

Based on this, Soviet and German tank strength on the map seems realistic since the T-34/85 didn't actually reach the front until February-March of 1944. Also, a couple of Pz4Hs for the Germans going up against waves of T-34s is a good representation of what was going on at the time. Tiger and Panther production just wasn't enough to equip the Wehrmacht with enough superior armor on the Eastern front and it showed when the German army collapsed and was completely pushed out of the USSR in early 1944.

Also, one thing I don't get is why 1 or 2 Wespes seem to end up on every German map, even though less than 700 were produced in total.

I'd say, replace the Wespe (or 2?) with Stug3Gs on this map.
