1.6GB for the new patch. wtf!?!?!

whats the story with the new patch being so big!?!?! This is surely a typo ya? 1.6GB is seriously taking the piss. Full retail games aren't even that big?? Whats the story?

It's not a patch it's a full install.

It's some hundreds of vehicles and weapons, multiple times as many as stock Bf.

Re: 1.6GB for the new patch. wtf!?!?!

New skins, models, new textures, new maps take up a lot of space. There's a lot of orginal content there which translates into much space taken up. (Plus there's about an extra gig of space for hidden easter egg vehicles and a mod within a mod) <--- yes yes Im mostly kidding. (mostly *cough)).

Most retail games suck compared to FH. FH is how BF should've been done to start with, just take the time to download it, you won't be dissapointed.

Actually the funny thing is that Forgotten Hope isn't much larger than just plain old Battlefield 1942, yet it has at least twenty times as much content in it. Sounds pretty efficient to me, even if Forgotten Hope lacks its own engine which doesn't take up a whole lot of space anyway.

We are still using a load of BF stuff, esp sound and maps, they use alot of space.

bf1942 fit on a 700mb CD and expanded to 1.2GB. could ye not have compressed it a bit more?

Īt would be great if you could delete some vanilla files, unfortuneatly when I tried that with the maps FH freaks out too.
