Default Wow, how big can this mod get?

Jesus christ this mod is going to be huge, its already has a file size bigger than most commercial games, yet its going to get even bigger come the next release, this is seriously insane. At first I thought ok, Ill just download it right, no biggie, but then I saw that the not only did I have to download a 698mb file, but then I had to download a 499mb file, and if that wasnt enought lets tack on another 40mb! that comes out to 1237mb! Holy sh*t! I think that the mod should be toned town alot, I mean have a poll to see what maps the community wants to keep and then take the unpopular ones and make them seperate, or take the vehicles the community has no use for, and make them optional. For christ sake, the combined size of this mod is bigger than BF 1942 itself!

If anything, split the big files into even smaller files of 100 to 200mb so that people can download them with relative ease, even on my DSL connection this mod will take possible a complete day to download.

CologneSky should make some friends

the bigger the better - should be no prob to dl with broadband. Just start the dl and spend the day doin something else. Shouldn't be that hard..
And if your using dial-up ask a friend of yours to dl it for you.

There is really no rational reason to reduce the size of the mod

I have broadband, but as of right now its not up to speed (87kbps) so I only get about 19kbps downloads, now with that speed a 300mb file takes like 6 hours, so a 600mb file would probably take like 12 hours if 100mb= 2 hours which is what Im guessing, 10 hours is still a long time, and after that I will still have to download a 499mb map pack which will take about 10 hours, and thats the current version, Im guessing the new version will probably be somwhere around 800mb for the main file, and around 600mb for the map pack file, thats getting a little insane dont you think.

Well the team has considered makeing the file smaller by upgradeing to a differnt engine that has features that the team programed in to the mod. Making the file smaller.

You could buy the DVD? You could set it downloading over night? (like i did) The more maps the better, the more vehicles the better, the more weapons the better (ok ok you get the drift :P).

But seriously, the DICE maps take up a few KB so there's no point in removing them and 90 percent of the current FH maps are excellent, the other 10 percent just need a little tweaking imo. I want it bigger, i want it bigger! :P

Tone the mod down? That's pretty retarded. Would you rather have a bland mod at 500MB or a badass mod (which is worth more than alot of games) at over a gig.

Nevermind. Lets vote to remove most weapons, vehicles, maps and textures. It's much too big to leave them in.
