Re: Wow, how big can this mod get?

I think that making a demo would be a GREAT IDEA. There are many ppl that wont try this mod only because of that. For example, in Spain having a 256 dsl is the maximum u can afford (if u dont want to pay an excessive amount of money), thus downloading more than 1 gig is a nightmare (fortunately they r going to double every dsl connection, starting in October).
I think that the FH team should consider building a demo after 0.65 release (i dont think it would be too much work, d it?)

Demo - more workdevs busy/lives, free mod, .. let's think about .... errr.. no, I would guess ;)

btw, use getright or whatever even if you're on cable/dsl and download in chunks if you want.

Getright is not a good idea, since 90 percent of download sites cannot be resumed.
I ll try bittorrent this time.

Yeah but.. Im not just talking about the BF community. Im talking about something more wider than that.
For example, DC won "mod of the year" for 2002 and 2003.. I would one day love to see that happen for FH too..
Don't you think so too?

I don't think FH will win mod of the year for 2002 and 2003 :( (Okay, I'm being pedantic :)).
So it does sound like more people will be using bittorrent this time...
wtr Getright I usually find a server that'll allow resuming if you look hard enough - I must have used it to get the last FH release as my PC is never on for that long.

Use FlashGet. Its a much better download manager. Cheap as free, also.

If you want to go Bittorrent but need to resume easily, use Azureus. It has fast file resuming (dosent need to re-verify the whole file every time you shut the prog off) and is very simple and easy to use, with a lot of good information returned to you.

Yeah, I've downloaded Azureus, but yet to install it...
As for FlashGet - I'm unsure whether it has spyware - maybe it just installs the HBO/IE Toolbar though - will investigate further.. hehe - I'm very suspicious of anything free nowadays :)

dont worry, its worth the long wait.

what i suggest doing is starting the download in the morning, the going to work and it should be done by the time you get home. or, start it before you go to bed, then i will be ready in the morning. personally, i got it off of filefront.com in about 4 hours after a 5 minute wait. use them, free and fast.

In my opinion, the bigger the better.
