FH is itself doesn't offer vehicles being used more sparingly.......

I was trying to adress that issue with my REPAIR thread, trying to make clear that repair facilities are missing or are blocked by spawning vehicles that even kill you when they respawn when you are busy repairing there. Without proper ability to repair ALL vehicles the game still uses vehicles as careless disposable items. Maybe great for public server fragfests, but nor for more serious matches.

The devs did include anti bunnyhopper and abuse counter measures as wide slow closing crosshairs on certain weapon ensuring they cannot be fired on the run, and must be deployed as defensive weapons or in their RL appropriate way, and pilot class so you can't exit planes with an infantry kit in maps without transport planes to abuse aircraft to cap a flag. You can still exit to cap a flag when you have a pilot kit, but then you will find yourself outgunned only holding a pistol and a knife. Without a pilot kit you will fall to death. Landing a plane can be done near some flags, but is often a practical faillure as a landing plane is vulnerable to almost all weapons there are, and you usually attract so much attention you will be shot when running toward the flag from your plane....Experience shown it really works....no more plane abusing flag cappers....

What you are looking for is probably a clan or the guys at the WAW servers that like to play FH in an organised way instead of public player chaos.

Bear in mind though, that even if this game encourages more serious teamwork, smacktards still can't be completely blocked out(re: Tales of Stupidity Thread).

Sometimes on pubs, you will notice that there are still some smacktards there bent on ruining your day.

Whilst I don't wish to push you away from FH (play them both). You might also enjoy Eve of Destruction. It's a Vietnam mod, with a lot of intense infantry battles in a jungle environment. Some of the maps are (imo) the best available for the BF series. A very atmospheric and well made mod.

Yep -- pubbing is fun if you're just chillin' out and you want to blow some stuff up, but if you're really looking for a serious (and extremely fun) battle experience, sign up for BFE-WaW.

I think you and I have similiar feelings on the usefulness of classes considering the rampant vehicle abuse. I'm tired of choosing engineer with the intention of helping my team when all i seem to do is hurt them by not focusing on killing enemies with my own vehicle . I'd like to see a finite number of vehicles per map. no respawning. they must be fixed by engineers once damaged. i think that would force people to protect their armor units and add intensity to battles and reliance on your teammates to use their classes skillfully. in any case it would be nice to have as a server option for those who enjoy the game experience we are describing.

Well actually now that TWL has set up the Fh ladder for organzied matchs between clans and teams no need to worry about bfe waw, no way im standing around at some fringe outpost for an hour....

You truley want an escape from noobs join the Fh ladder at TWL, it 100 times better then public server's.........

Yep, Anti-Aliasing makes screen fonts look a lot sharper, but the console is almost unreadable. My settings are as follows:



Works great for BF1942. If you want to play BF:V, though, set Anti-Aliasing to "Use Game Default" or you'll get crazy glitches.
